hi @ all,

I just wanted to install a game update and noticed nothing would install (neither using fbi nor eShop).

I heard of a problem when the card is getting too full, but I have 8 GB left.
How can I fix this?

best wishes.

that's normal. imagine you want to install a 5 gb game. you need 10 gb free beforehand(before copying the cia). IIRC, you'll need even more

the card is legit. it is a samsung evo plus. currently I have a small 70 MB update and not even that wants to be installed. it always tells me "source_FSFILE_WRITE)
desprotion_misaligned_size...

Are you trying to install over network with FBI? Or do you get the error when installing a local CIA too?

How much did you pay for the card and where did you get it from? Did it come in the standard sd package with Chinese writting on the box?

Can you add or remove any files on the card? If it can, do the files disappear/stay when you remove and reinsert the card? If so, the flash on your SD card is dead. You'll have to backup all your files and EmuNAND (if you're using one) and buy another SD card, sadly.

yes, card can be read and written to no problem. no need for another card.

This here is the error after socketpunch tries

Where did you get the SD card? What brand is it? Hope you didn't get a scammed card.
Take the card out and put into your computer, then see how much space has been used, and how much remains.
This app can also help to see how much space is used by each folder:

http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/windirstat_portable

Card is from Amazon and space is fine. Can read and write from Pc. Even over ftp to the 3ds. But installation seems to be a problem currently and I dunno why.

Invalid signature error usually comes from having linked NANDs still or from trying to install anything from unpatched sysNAND instead of patched, or emuNAND.

I like how nobody's mentioned that the CIA may be corrupt. If you're on Windows, transfer the file over with TeraCopy.

Because he/she said that he/she can't install from eShop either, so everyone was focused on the card itself.
Then he/she mentioned always getting the "misaligned_size" error description, which might be caused by a network issue.

@naddel81: From your picture, I see that the error is not "misaligned_size" but "invalid_signature". @nickwhit just explained a few possible reasons for this. Can you give more details about your setup? (A9LH? MenuHax? Updated SysNAND? EmuNAND? etc.)
Can you also confirm that you tested with different CIAs?

first I like to thank you all for helping me out (I am really in a bad mood because of the errors).
I use reinand/menuhax (sysnand 9.2 out of the box, never downgraded) on EMUnand 10.7 and until today every install worked flawlessly. I just wanted to update a game (zelda hyrule legends warriors) on 1.3 and noticed that neither the .cia nor the eshop update would work. so I deleted the game completely and now I am trying to reinstall it.

I can write and read from the SD no problem. I have around 10GB free (should be enough) and I just installed the newest FBI 2.2.1 correctly. So I guess the card is OK. I will give the new FBI installer a try but socketpunch seems to not install via network on the new FBI. so I am copying the 2GB game to the SD card from card reader now and try to install it using the latest FBI version.

everything is unlinked and the 39 games I installed before worked without a problem.

The network install feature on FBI 2.2.1 works fine for me with SocketPunch, if that's not working for you then there is a problem there already.

You installed FBI 2.2.1using the version injected into the Health & Safety app? If yes, then this proves that your SD card is fine and that CIA installation on your console is fine. So this means that the problem is either with the Hyrule Warriors Legends CIA you are trying to install, or the previous installation (bad ticket?).

What you can try:

• Try to install another (preferably small) game and see if that works (optional since you probably installed the FBI 2.2.1 CIA, it should be enough)
• If the above works, redownload the Hyrule Warriors Legends CIA and retry
• If it still does not works, delete the Hyrule Warriors Legends ticket using FBI (be extra careful that you are deleting the right ticket), then reinstall

Sorry if you already did some (or all) of those steps, just making sure here.

(and you are welcome, I hope it will get sorted out eventually!)

I installed FBI 2.2.1 using FBI 1.4 ;) and it worked.
I then installed the 2GB game using the new FBI 2.2.1 and it worked. Then I tried to directly install the eshop update 1.3 for the game and it did not work. error at the end of downloading (when trying to install).
then tried the manual way using FBI 2.2.1 and it worked.

strange! only difference is that I visited eshop inbetween FBI 1.4 and 2.2.1.
network install did say there is a .cia to install and then asked if I wanted the optional CDN ticket (what is that for?) but regardless if I clicked yes or no it did not install.

well it is fine now, I guess and I'll try network install again when I need it. for now I call it a day. thanks for your help.

UPDATE: Network install works using FBI 1.4, but fails under FBI 2.2.1 (tested the small homebrew launcher loader.cia). strange stuff!

Oh, glad the install eventually worked!

Regarding the "Install title contents from the CDN" thing: if you hit yes, it will actually only install the ticket (a sort of purchase receipt for a game that is tied to your console) but download the game from Nintendo's servers instead of using the CIA you were trying to install. So, not always useful.

What is failing when you try the network install? The connection tends to fail sometimes, but just reconnecting to the access point tends to fix it.
