maybe not different legally. feels different to me though. if i download a game from a site i don't feel guilty about it at all. after all nintendo didn't lose anything by me doing so. i wasn't (usually) gonna buy the game anyway. and sometimes if i really like a pirated game i'l actually buy it afterwards. so in my mind it balances out. (them losing sales by me not buying the rare games i would buy, and me buying the games i wouldn't have bought had i not been able to pirate them)

but downloading them directly costs them in bandwith, so i don't do it.

It feels super extra illegal vs those iso sites... Thoughts?
Congratulations, you don't have to! :yay:

Also, legality wise, it's all the same. If you download via the eShop itself, there's a chance of Nintendo tying it back to your NNID (I'm not sure whether they send any console-specific info while downloading on the eShop, but I'd assume so). When downloading through a 3rd party tool like CIAngel or FBI, no extra info is sent, they have your IP, and IPs aren't people.

Even if people don't protect their identity what will Nintendo do? Ban your ip address? lmfao

Ban your NNID and/or your console (IF they collect your serial number when downloading from the eShop). Then they'll be laughing their asses off.

(though, there are methods out there to bypass the bans)

If me downloading a few games is enough to slow down Nintendo's servers they need to upgrade them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They clearly haven't shown any care for users, so why should I care for them?

If you're going to pirate, do it right. But if you want to waste your time with dead links and crappy file sharing sites for "the sake of Nintendo" or some other crap, don't let me stop you.
Really though, if you're going off of morals then both are immoral. So what's the point of doing the "slightly less" immoral thing?

I just don't do it because it sounds like extra work for the same result.
>Scanning QR code/entering keys
>extra work

It's far easie to enter codes than looking through links that are slow, or may have been taken down.

Without CIAngel I probably never would have gotten a Scribblenauts Unlimited USA CIA.

I mean either way is "Morally" wrong, but I always felt that ticket spoofing was worse. you're not only downloading games without paying for them, you're using Nintendo's servers to do so. That's basically just adding insult to injury.

Even if every person on this forum who uses tickets downloaded every game on Nintendo's CDN, we'd cost them pennies. Companies like Nintendo don't pay the same for bandwidth as normal consumers do.

That ISO Site:

>go to ISO site
>search for less popular game
>get unrelated results
>finally find one
>linkbucks adfly etc chain
>crappy host with "premium" required for speeds faster than 5Kb/s
>requires disabled adblock
>wait 60 seconds for file
>advertising captcha
>download
>6 hours later
>unRAR the file (why RAR?)
>it's a EUR region .3ds file
>knowing you have an EUR game you converted from .3ds along with a bunch of clean US CIA games really bugs you to no end for no good reason

versus tickets:
>go to titlekeys site
>ctrl+f name of game
>find USA version game
>copy title ID and encrypted ticket
>type it in CIAngel/make QR with Shameless/download with FunKey/etc
>install USA CIA
>yaaay
