Every time I exit a GBA game and then power off, my 3DS hangs, and I have to hold the power button to shut it off. Is there any way around this?

Are you using BootAnim9 or something else as the arm9loaderhax.bin file?

I'm using the latest noscreeninit arm9loaderhax.bin file that user Michierusama posted.

"Michierusama, post: 6296563, member: 349196"]Latest a9lh noscreeninit fork from aurora updated.

Changes: cleanup. Update with safe a9lh installer, put the files in the root of sd card and launch safea9lhinstaller, update it, done.

Can anyone else shed any light on this problem? Does anyone else know more about having to force a 3DS to power off after exiting a GBA .CIA?

Did you have the problems before you switch to the new arm9loaderhax.bin?
Did you try another arm9loaderhax.bin to verify that it happenes with all of them?

This is the first time I've played a GBA game using Luma3DS. I don't want to switch to an older arm9loaderhax.bin file. If it's just some sort of error because of the version I'm using, I'll just stick with it until it gets corrected in a future version. It's only a small annoyance to have to hard reset the 3DS. I was just thinking there could be a quick fix.

I'am not sure if there is a "quick fix" because there are not enough informations.
But anyway.
You are using Luma3DS so what did you choose in the configuration?
(press select before start to get into the menu!)
A picture would be nice!

P.S. much better try this one please : http://astronautlevel2.github.io/Luma3DS/builds/Luma-afc6f51.zip

The link you supplied is what I am using.

Here are my Luma3DS v5.4 Configuration menu settings:

Screen-init brightness: 1
New 3DS CPU Clock+L2

Autoboot SysNAND
SysNAND is updated (A9LH-only)
Force A9LH detection
Show current NAND in System Settings
Show GBA boot screen in patched AGB_FIRM
Enable splash screen with no screen-init

you don't have to enable force a9lh and splash screen(if you don't use any boot image or anime)
