So here's what's up. Back when I first bought my copy of Pokemon Y, I started the game with a male character and pretty much played the game to completion (not quite, I'm just after the 8th gym). However, fastforward to now, and I want to switch my name/gender. Name was straight forward, pop the save into pkhex and edit it. And then edit the pokemon's OT to match. No problem.
However, gender seems to be a huge clusterfuck of an issue. I tried using an old PKhex to switch the gender, but the game freezes upon load. No good.
So what I did instead was start a new file, select female, and then backup *that* save. I migrated all of my pokemon, trainer stats, items, key items, etc. So far so good. All of the items/pokes/etc migrated just fine. However, there's the issue of story progress.
So what I did was load up the 'event flags' section of pkhex and ran a diff comparison on the new and old save files. I flipped the flags as appropriate to match the old save file. I also went ahead and copied all the event constants from the old save to the new one.
I booted up the game aaaaannnnddd... It sort of worked. All the events were 'dead'. They didn't auto trigger. However, the characters still popped up where they'd be when the event triggered, and all of the environment stuff is still unchanged. There's still a blackout, the guy still stops you from crossing, etc. And to make things worse, I can't fly anywhere besides where I've visted on the new file.
So that's where you guys come in. I found a pokemon *x* female save file, and copied the flags from that, and it cleaned up the events as it should. However, that save only had the first gym beaten.
I'm hoping you guys could swoop in with a female save file for pokemon Y (x might work as well) so I can copy those flags. Preferably I'd want to be back to right after the 8th gym, but a bit before that is fine too.
Alternatively, if you know how to flip genders on my original save, that'd be the best case scenario. Even just helping me figure out how to cheat back up to my original save would be nice.
