Black Fin is released now. So many players want to know what it is. This post will give you a brief introduction about it.

What is Black Fin ?
It is the first ever peer to peer game sharing device for PS Vita. You can share your friends' game titles by connecting to a P2P network via from your PC or Android device. By the way, Android software will come out later. In conclusion, you will can access to hundreds of titles over a P2P network. Maybe you never imagine before. It is the ultimate P2P network system for your PS Vita.

What's the feature of it?

1.Vita and Vita Slim Wifi and 3G users can share their Vita games over the internet via it.
2. It has designed a unique and cutting edge peer to peer sharing device which allows users to share their favourite games with friends over an internet.
3. In general, the flash card should be the same size as the original Vita card itself. Of courese, its size is no bigger than a Vita game card. When you see the circuit board, maybe you never imagine how it is been designed.

How does it work?

The Black Fin Emulator card stores game ISO's on Micro SD and then the Black Fin Card is inserted into the Vita/Vita Slim console.
When connected to the Black Fin servers authentication of the Vita game is performed by matching the ISO on your Micro SD card to the same original game running on a peers' Black Fin reader connected to his PC and the Black Fin servers or friends' servers.

What does it include?
Blackfin card reader (7 slots)

Blackfin game card emulator

Blackfin USB dongle

Mini USB cable for BlackFin card reader

Where can we buy it?

You can buy the Blackfin from a website which named <snip>.

released? excellent!
i spoke to a reseller a few days ago, he had the hardware in stock and i could have bought it but - he said that even he did not know when the software will be released.
without the software it's useless :)

WARNING

i hope the OP and the website advertised is not just selling this for money, or faking that it is released now... because the official site has not been updated.
http://cobra-blackfin.com/
so, even though the device is real and not a fake, i don't think this site has the thing for sale, at least no software side.

read my edit, looking at the official site there is no update, so... this site being advertised... i'm not convinced they are a real store, or, even if they send the hardware, maybe we still have to wait for the sw

of course i would like to be corrected @Helen Wang - i want to test out some games :D

Oh. So now there might not even be hardware. Time to play the great waiting game.

no, there is hardware.
just the software is not finished yet.
at least, that is what a reseller told me a few days ago.

but this store might say otherwise, according to the OP it sounds like the blackfin is now released and ready. but looking at the official blackfin site, i see nothing updated.
so i think maybe the software really still is not finished, and if this OP/site is selling anything at all and not just taking your money, then even if you get the hardware you will need to wait for the software.

Either way i''ll wait until someone else orders it first :D

I'm actually more interested in Vita native homebrew then this.
Hopefully this would pave the way for it, even tho I doubt it.

Seeing the device has 7 slots for you to put your games in it kinda defeats the purpose of pirating.
Seeing you already own all the worthy titles on the Vita ;o;

we have vita native homebrew, not full kernel access but it is native, all functions/inputs etc, with regards to stuff like back touch screen (something psm did not allow)

TIL.
Specific firmware only or across all firmwares with a game exploit?

it needs some specific firmware, it uses an exploit in the playstation mobile dev app, that people could sign up for to make games and stuff on their vita.
yifanlu found an exploit in it and kept it private until sony cancelled support and removed the dev app thing. then yifanlu released it and we can have real homebrew. i think you need a computer each time you want to boot homebrew though, at least each time from a cold boot/exit to vita home menu.
newer firmwares don't let you even boot that mobile dev application so the entry point is gone, maybe since last year or so.

Hmm, so I was up to date then.
Hopefully some progression will come through it.
PSP had a booming homebrew scene.

i have my old vita on the old fw, 3.18 i think, so i can use that entry point, some web entry point (just in case), and have cfw in the epsp. no expectations any new real vita hack will come, but nice to be ready.
but my slim vita is up to date, if we can't pirate i have to use the store and be up to date right :D
