Hacking Need some help with wiiflow and usb loader gx

I have an issue with Wiiflow. Whenever I try to start it, it says I need to update IOS 58 and HBC... Except I have no idea how to update IOS58... Also, I was wanting to backup my games onto an external HDD and play them with USB loader gx, but I've been reading online that if I want to backup my Wii games I need to wipe my HDD... So the main point of this was, is it possible to just stick the wii backups into a folder and then play them like that? Because I have a bunch of apps and stuff on that HDD and if backing up my wii games means I won't be able to use them anymore then I'm not going to backup my wii games. All my usb sticks are in use and my only 32 gb card is in my 3DS, so I'm stuck with a 4gb card and a 500 gb HDD.

You can use ModMii to get the latest IOS58 from Nintendo's servers then install it with a WAD manager. The HBC should update itself if your Wii is connected to the internet.

If you're reading about partitioning your drive with WBFS you're reading very old info. Do not use it. Make sure you have a FAT32 partition as the first partition on your drive and it should be primary. You can use Wii Backup Manager to copy your games to the drive. Set it to split the games at 4GB and it will make a folder called "wbfs" with the games in it.

SD and flash drives are not recommended. They can be very slow and may not even work.

Can you send me an updated video for 4.3u on how to install and play wii backups? Also, I updated HBC. And yes, I have internet on my wii.

Do the games in the folder have to be formatted to WBFS or can they just be ISOs?

ISOs will either be 4GB or 8GB so some won't fit. It's not a WBFS partition. It's the file version of one and isn't prone to corruption when new games are added. Wii Backup Manager can convert them automatically when it copies them.

I don't make videos. Just go grab a copy of Wii Backup Manager. It's pretty easy to use.

Sorry, I wasn't sure what you meant. I'm not sure about video tutorials, I've never looked at one. A lot of the ones on YouTube are apparently out of date though.

FAT32 is the most compatible. Quite a few homebrew apps can't access anything else. (I think the Homebrew Channel itself requires it.) If you have other partitions on the drive just make sure the one you want to use for your games is the first partition and it's a primary one rather than extended.

You can use NTFS for Wii games with USB loaders but not Gamecube.

Also, I fixed WiiFlow, so how do I get a forwarder that will take me straight to the library of a select emulator?

Nevermind, I got it to work and played my first Wii backup!

For any noobs wondering how I accomplished this, I made a folder on the root of my HDD called "wbfs" and used Wii Backup Manager to convert them to wbfs and put them on the HDD, then ran them with WiiFlow
