Monster Hunter Generations releases July 15, also gets special edition N3DS console

After only having a tentative "Summer 2016" release date, Capcom has finalized when Monster Hunter Generations will be coming west. There also will be a special Monster Hunter themed New 3DS XL console, which will retail for 199.99USD (It seems the game will be pre-installed for the EU release, but not the North American one). Europe gets a red console, while North America gets a blue version. A demo for the game will available be on the Nintendo e-Shop sometime closer to release.

Hmm...

The blue one seems to not have the game : "Monster Hunter Generations game sold separately"

maybe it's the difference :
Red = Console + game preinstalled
Blue = US, no game

Just to say, the Japanese version of the limited edition included the cartridge version

Pre-installed means another Legit CIA, so I'm hardly complaining.

...even if the idea of a Legit CIA is kinda void now Updated sysNAND is a thing...

Perhaps I'll get in on this, I still need a replacement N3DS XL, and the franchise interests me, having never played any of the games.

Don't be so sure. It'll take a while for consoles to start shipping with 11.x and there's a good chance they've already started production of the limited edition consoles since before 11.0 was even out.

I'm working in the appliances industry. You have generally 2 weeks for the production of the first batch, 6 weeks of boat travel and 1 week for shipping to shops. So we can assume that the consoles could be in 11.x

And trust me, it's super easy to rework the product and update the consoles at boat arrival if Nintendo thinks it deserves it

My bad! Was reading both sources, and also just assumed it would be like most American LE consoles, where the game doesn't come with a game pre-installed. OP edited to fix.

Right on. The lead time is about 3 months so we should be safe.

Lovely console.

Lets have facts, not apples and oranges comparisons to other industries.

With the last monster hunter console we got firm 9.2. Firm 9.2 was between Oct 29 - Dec 8 2014 and the console was released Feb 13 2015. That means the lead time was between at least about 2-3 months. This time pattern exists in many other special edition 3ds launches.

And even then, you're confirming the opposite of what you're arguing since the weeks you described add up to 9. That would put the new Monster Hunter console at <=10.7. lol
