hi there.

I've been setting RenderScale to 2 for DS games that use a lot of 3D polygons, when playing them on the Wii U.

I remember at one point, someone posting a screenshot of them playing Chrono Trigger for the DS, on their Wii U, and they said that increasing the RenderScale (or PixelArtUpscaler or something, I don't remember what setting he was talking about exactly) made the pixels "Sharper" and that it made chrono trigger and other pixel-only ds games look better.

Is that true, or not?

I think he was referring to PixelArtUpscaler rather than RenderScale.
Render Scale seems to be specific for 3D models, while PixelArtUpscaler applies to textures, sprites, etc.
Pretty much everythind 2D related.

Try it out for yourself and see how well it keeps up.
Try different values of PixelArtUpscaler too, just don't enable RenderScale=2 along with PixelArtUpscale since that will freeze the game.

I would try it but I've always been afraid of games glitching up, so I'm too afraid that a game might crash or look glitchy as it freezes and makes loudass noises like 900 aliens are coming to kill me or something
no rly I'm afraid of games glitching up ever since ClayFighter 63 1/3rd once froze on me and said a weird message like "PLEASE RETURN ME TO MY MASTER I MISS MY MASTER" and it literally said something like taht for real it was freakin weird

ok does anyone that's tried it know if PixelArtUpscaler is actually useful yet? I wanna know

Wait, I have to know, since I haven't of this before. What is "Renderscale"? Do I understand correctly that it allows one to render ds games at higher resolution? If so, is there a tutorial on this anywhere?

Yeah. You can set Renderscale to 2 and then it will render DS games at twice the rendering resolution (I have no idea how to explain that correctly.) It makes games with 3D polygons, like Super Mario 64 DS or the agents in Elite Beat Agents etc., look better.
