So to make things more clear, what I mean is to reset the 1 per game event limit on Pokemon XYORAS via homebrew/CFW methods. I would assume something along the lines of saving the game, wiping the data and then pasting the save back which may work, but again I'm not sure and would like to confirm if this will work or if there's a better way of doing so.

I believe just backing up the save file with something like svdt, opening it up in PKHex, and then deleting all the numbers in the "Received List" that you can access after clicking on the "WonderCard" tab is enough to do the trick.

I think for your method, you'd have to play the brand new file up to the point in the game where you have a Pokedex, so another option would be to reach that point, back up that save, and then just restore after you download the desired event Pokemon and stash them in PKBank (or the real Pokemon Bank) or something

My method was more talking about the fact that saving a file before getting the event doesn't seem to carry when you restore it after getting that event, still counting as obtained anyway. Resetting the game to remove the counter then restoring should work.

At any rate I'll give that a shot.

ooh, okay. I'm not overly familiar with doing this kind of thing unfortunately so I'm just guessing I'm afraid

This can be done without editing the save, you will just need a save manager to pull and push the save back and forth

1) Extract the save (must have not redeemed the event!)
2) Go redeem whatever event
3) Trade it to another game, put it in the bank or whatever you want to do with it
4) Restore the save file (hasn't redeemed "XXXX" event)
5) BOOM! Profit :yay3ds:

@Posghetti that would work... had I not already used the event well before trying save managers and thus no amount of pre-saving helps.

I wound up backing my save data and then wiping the game, moving up to a point where I come across a Pokemon Center and then backing that save again before the event. It was quite a hassle though so I'd still like to know if there's an alternative homebrew solution. (Maybe somebody should try making that? I don't suppose it would be too hard if we already have PC programs that do the same thing with open source to boot.)

Pokemon Servers seems to log your in game details, as well as cartridge/3DS info.

So some events, while reverting to an older save won't work.
(since they log your details.)

I think restarting a game may work, but I've never tested it.

Honestly, I've done a bit of testing with this and there is no black and white answer. Using a program like PkHeX to delete WonderCards in the album as well as the received list DOES in fact work with most event pokemon (i.e TUE05PM Korean Xerneas). However, at the same time others like the re-distribution Hoopa with the public code HOOPA2016 seems to be server side and requires a new save. I tried deleting the info many, many time and I still "received this gift before". Strangely, one-time codes work the same as the former and can be re-used after deleting the info.
Another option is to just use the "Flag as unused" option in PkHeX to receive the gift twice. Doing this works just fine to pick up another "gift" from the delivery girl.
EDIT: One time codes meaning two separate, one time use codes. I didn't mean to imply you could use the same code twice unless it's a public code.

Unless they do it via the regular multiplayer servers, I don't think so. The only copies of Pokemon I have linked to any kind of server like Global Link is Pokemon Y and AS. The game I'm trying to get this working on is X. (And no, I've already got the event done on those as well.)

@Majickhat55 PCHeX does seem promising but I'm experiencing trouble actually booting the program (It just shows up as three processes I can't shut down in Task Manager when I try) and besides which it seems like a lot of stuffing around is needed to actually read the save in the first place if the above forum link is any indication.

I'm not sure why that would be. PkHeX is a pretty simple, straighforward program. You're only loading the .exe file from the release zip? Odd. After extracting your save from whatever save manager you use, you can either pull the SD and PkHeX will load the save automatically, or you can copy it over to the PC with FTBrony and drag it to the program to open it. From there it's as easy as opening the wondercard tab and deleting the info. It's a pretty automatic process.

If you have 9.2 sys/emunand, you can rsavout before claiming a gift. That way every time after claiming it, you rsavin and can reclaim it again. The ramsav generated from rsavout doesn't show changed party data. So you can have up to 5 of the same event in your party, and if you want more, you rsavin after claiming the event, put the event(s) in the PC, rsavout, claim the event, rsavin, the new ramsav now would have your previously collected events.

All this without PKHex, but it's deemed obsolete when there's save managers and PKHex. I actually still use it, I was able to claim a pretty good HA Articuno, kept it, and can still claim another thanks rsavout/rsavin. If I knew how to edit NTR ramdumps to repeat events and/or battles, then ramsavs would be obsolete to me, as I would no longer need 9.2 emunand.

To be specific:
I don't have NNID on my N3DS.
WiFi event (not serial code)

Collected a Mew,
rolled back save to before I collected Mew.
'You've already collected this gift' or a message along that lines pop up.

Change cartridge to a second 3DS, same message.

Same game with different trainer ID on second 3DS (.cia version, not cartridge),
and the gift is received.

I'm not sure if they log trainer details,
but they sure as hell log the Cartridge Private Header, or 3DS MAC/secureinfo (for .cia version) details,
based on how I couldn't get the same gift again.

This is apparently my analysis based on what I've tried, and I stand to be corrected.

Recently I did this with AS, PKBank and a save manager:

1- made a copy of my save before claiming the gifts.
2- got the gifts in game and saved the game.(in my case they were diancie, hoopa, shiny rayquaza, mew, celebi, jirachi and the legendary birds)
3- used PKBank to deposit the Pokemon.
4- restored the save I made before claiming the gifts.
5- profit.

Currently I haven't noticed any drawbacks or sanction from the Pokemon servers or something like that, and I play online on a daily basis, although I didn't do any of the steps above while connected to the internet.

On the subject of serial codes, I'm not sure if saving and restoring the save would work, actually I doubt it, but as stated on the posts before, you can always use PKHex to modify the flags on the mystery gift options

Definitely going to look into that. Thanks :D

Well my events that was collected was a while back.
Oh I think it was the "open serial codes" events (HA Unova Starters).

So maybe it isn't restricted to Wifi events, but rather Open Password events?

Anyhow, with a save manager, one could just use wondercards ;P

My Pokemon Y game broke so when I bought a new one I downloaded the wondercard files from a website and then used pkhex to insert into the game is that what you're trying to do?
Also with PKhex you can right click wondercards, select view, and it'll ask if you want to remove the used flag if you want to get another copy of that wondercard from the delivery girl

I'm trying to use an event code on a game that's already downloaded the event once. Also, PKHeX isn't working for me.

Well you could always use the mystery machine too. Although you'll need a way to delete the WC data. Could just do the backup save thing, and rinse and repeat like someone already said. It's an option anyway :D
