So I was kind of interested in talking about this. Ever since the Wii U was released people were saying it was a good console. But after 2016 it got extremely boring, and not a lot of people play on it anymore.

Pretty much the same thing a lot of people liked the Wii in 2006, then it got boring in 2012 same deal really. I was curious to know others opinions as I am interested in buying a Wii U once the NX releases. Hopeing it becomes cheaper, and that they might discontinue their online services.

Here are mine so far:

Wii U:

May be hard to modify the console, as there may be issues conflicting with the main "I Pad Controler".

Game content is not very unique (Except a few Link, and Mario Games. Spaltoon is also nice.)

Hardware contains a lot of memory (32 GB if I remember, or having the optional 4 GB.)

You have to wait on loading screens a long time to connect to an online game, or service... I believe maximum wait time is five minutes

Links with the old Wii that way you can transfer your games to the Wii U.

Contains simple "mini games" written on the Wii U that you can play with your friends.

It is possible to play with a Wii Controler, as long as it has the Wii U brand on it.

Graphics have been slightly improved in resolution terms, and shaders.

Games are a little pricy. ($20 USD - $50 USD minimum for single party games.)

Content has been improved for multiplayer online (This means that you can link a Nintendo ID Account to your 3DS, Wii U, and Mobile Device. So you have your data saved globally on the 3DS, and Wii U. Socializing online has also been an improved feature

Wii U supports 3rd Party Games but graphics are either horrible, or FPS is serverley slown down.

Compared to the Wii;

Online services discontinued,

Very easy to hack. In fact one of the easiest consoles you can hack into.

You have the freedom of adding new features to the Wii with modifications to make it your own "Wii". There are no punishments of modding the Wii as long as your smart, and know what to do if something goes wrong.

Games are great. Graphics are okay considering they were updated, but they were the best at the time.

Games range from $19.99 - $29.99 for single party games.

Contains no third party support.

Great, and simple to use.

Contains a lot of eyestrain (You may notice this on the Wii Menu, or in certain games.) this can easily be fixed by changing your Wii Theme Menu, and game menus to black, making the screen darker, or by altaring the colors. If your not into that it's best you take frequent breaks from the Wii.

Hardware is not as great (Only has a few MB avilable, which is not a problem since the saved games are very small files.)

Space avilable on the Wii will almost not matter as long as you online use game discs, and do not download games from the Shop.

The Wii Shop channel is still supported (May be unsupported in the future.)

You can play Gamecube games.

Just curious. What do you guys think is the best?

For singleplayer and online experience Wii U has better games.

I enjoyed the local multiplayer games from the Wii better.

Pssh, in terms of good games, homebrew, emulators, and local multiplayer the Wii easily beats the Wii U.
But the Wii U can literally run all that and also Splatoon, Mario Maker, Smash 4, Mario Kart 8, 3D World, N64/DS games, etc etc.

But why spend 100's of dollars for that, compared to the Wii being an easy to use modding tool lol.

All this modding actually gives me an idea for the Nintendo NX LOL. "NX CU" "Custom U"

There's actually a lot that the Wii does and the Wii U doesn't. Wii has Bootmii for near-foolproof brick protection, Priiloader for an easy way to boot straight into any homebrew as well as easy region-free and other hacks, neek2o for true emuNAND, hardware GameCube ports that can be used in Wii and GC games, GC memory card slots, system menu themes, and more. Plus it's way cheaper.

There's also the fact that you can mod any Wii easily without buying any games, unlike Wii U.

Wii U got so much unecessary hate. Nevertheless, I prefer the Wii U over the Wii. The latter was a very good system but I think the Wii U would have been more enjoyable if developers took more risk and some users stopped some shitty negative, sometimes not even true, comments. Anyway, I love most Nintendo systems and always buy them. Wii U is no exception here and I enjoy every bit of my games.

What? That's not something "The Wii does". Those are things that have been exploited in the Wii. The only thing a Wii does that a Wii U doesn't (without hacks on either) is play Gamecube discs, but it makes up for that by playing Wii U discs. Add in hacks, load up Nintendont, and it plays GC games as well.

Those things that have been exploited do not work on the vWii. So you can't just respond that the Wii U has all of those. Overall, the Wii has much more value.

I like both consoles, but what about the 5.5.1 kernel exploit? You don't need to buy games for that, right?
Right, but the Wii has a much more full-featured and easily set-up exploit than that. The vWii side of the Wii U can't be exploited without a game and even after you do it's more restricted than the Wii.

Ah, vWii. You're right on that, I'm new to the Wii U hacking scene, I've had a modded Wii for a couple years now and all I've really done is set up a USB backup loader and Super Mario War for friends.

The Wii U of course. It plays GameCube, Wii and Wii U games, it basically plays everything the Wii can play and more, and off-TV play is a plus.

I believe SNEEK runs on the Wii U and as a bonus using SNEEK enables Priiloader to work too. And the GameCube adapter is only $20.

Even so, it doesn't work in Wii games. Plus, no memory cards.
Well, you can dump your memory card using the homebrew launcher on the (original) Wii, then us that as an emulated memory card on the Wii U (using Nintendont), effectively allowing you to play Gamecube games on the Wii U, whilst using your memory card data.

Well you still need an original Wii for that to happen, so...
