Being on the forefront of information is an important task, though, in my opinion, an underappreciated one. I had nearly given up hope on the Vita hacking/homebrew scene altogether were it not for this thread.

Indeed, no such warez will be shared. :) The idea of having economically feasable 128GB of memory, and sharing games among a close circle of friends, to me, is very exciting! Though, I won't go into the ethical debate of "sharing" games. That's another topic, for another forum.

There are a couple of awesome sites for disc back ups but this being a game forum, then that's obviously known already

I hope something for 3.57 gets done soon. Having bought one second hand with that evil firmware on it I'm quite bummed lol

Lol, yeah I know that feeling. Honestly, I would love to see the kind of progress for the Vita that the 3DS is making right now. It's a little saddening to think about, 3DS scene is thriving, and the Vita scene is... trickling. I love them both, but Vita needs the love it deserves!

Hey guys

I've installed vhbl on my 3.57 vita using the "Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops +" save game and I´ve managed to run vhbl.

However, i've tried to install emulators but with no success. I followed many tutorials and i still cant run emulators.

Any help?

Thanks

Thanks a lot for this thread, it´s great to see someone keeping track of the progress in the Vita hack community. I wish the Vita scene could be booming like the 3DS one, I hope it´s just a matter of time.

Just took the dust off my Vita and discovered it´s on 3.50, going to keep it like this and also keep an eye here.

TheFloW has found a 3.57 ePSP Kernel exploit, but will hold off on releasing it for now. He will however release a custom PS1 Bubble trick that works on firmwares 3.00 to 3.52, release is soon:

Even if it wasnt hard...no hacker/dev seems to care about the vita.
I'm pretty sure Mr.Gas, Major_Tom (Tomtomdu80), and especially TheFlow, still care about Vita hacking. TheFlow even has a developed >=3.57 PSP-side private kernel exploit! :)

So, Itried to undestand something but i failed..... I'm going to buy a ps vita slim (PCH2016), but I don't know if I can crack it and play ps vita games. If I cannot play psvita games, could I play psp or ps3 games? I found so much contrasting informations...... thank you ve

There is no such thing as psvita piracy yet. You can play PSP backups as long as you get a Vita on 3.55 or lower (3.52 or lower is highly recommended). For PS3 games, if you mean actually playing PS3 backups on the Vita itself, then that's a big no. But there's PS3 remote play if you have an actual PS3. :)

The OP is very detailed and I would recommend you reading it again. But for some quick answers to your questions:

- No, you can´t play backups of PSVita games yet;
- No...you can´t play PS3 games on a Vita...;
- What you CAN do with hacked PsVita: play PSP games, play PS1 games (through emulator), use homebrew.

It is recommended that you get a Vita with a firmware 3.52 or lower if you plan hacking it.

EDIT: was ninja´ed by Voxel Studios :ninja:

thank you... but... it's planned a hack to play ps vita games? or not? I think I had not understood what is homebrew... It is not the mod to play iso?

No. Not yet anyway. Only PSP/PS1 games for the time being. And homebrew is basically unsigned code and can be compiled into some really useful apps. Such as, like you say, a PSP ISO launcher. :)

No. Some emulators and homebrew can be run on Vita's that were hacked before they were updated, but currently there is no way to play PSP isos on 3.60.

You can only run VHBL (PSP homebrew launcher) on 3.60, and that's it at the moment... and even that requires a lower FW Vita/PSTV to install onto a fresh 3.60 like yours. :/
