Hacking Im about to attempt to upgrade from rxtools, to Luma with A9HL. Any suggestions before I start?

Hello,

I am incredibly nervous about starting this adventure. I have all then time in the world so I thought, why not give it a try. My current setup is a USA 2DS running 6.0 with rxtools with 10.7 EmuNand. I want to just start over from scratch. I really don't want to start in the middle of any tutorials. I should just be able to format my SD card and be good to go correct? Obviously, I will make a backup first just in case. Any other pointers that I should have or anything that I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

I know you've said you didn't want to start in the middle of tutorials, but your best bet is to do exactly that: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-4-(Getting-the-OTP)

This is assuming you already have an EmuNand (which is pretty much the same as RedNand, except a bit less optimal to use) and have FBI injected to your EmuNAND. The first 3 parts are all about getting to 9.2 and setting up a CFW, but you already did that.

I would recommend starting the guide at part 4. Instructions are included for people coming from prior hax. This is especially handy if you dont want to lose any games/saves you had previously on Emunand.

Granted you may be able to do it your way.. Im not sure how 2DS firmwares work. I also just find the guide generally knows whats best and how to do it. I trust it more than myself.. as should most users.

OK cool. So there really isn't any point in deleting my EmuNand then. I'm going to start the updating process and see what happens!

Yeah, except once you get to part 4, anything it tells you to do, including backing up your SysNand/EmuNand/SD card, are completely necessary. Don't skip any steps once you're on part 4.

Read. Reread. Do not question or skip anything. Cross your fingers alot. Eventual success. Let us know if you have any issues getting to that last step.. and dont be afraid to ask BEFORE doing something permanent or scary.

Is there a trick to get hombrew launcher to work? Every time i do it, it freezes at a red screen. I deleted my cookies and history, go to my bookmark, open it, touch the slider bar at the far right side, I get crazy colors that eventually lead to a blue screen, then the red screen appears and nothing.

Crashing at the red screen? Did you download starter.zip from https://smealum.github.io/3ds/ and copy /3ds/ and boot.3dsx to your root? (I thought you already had it, but apparently not... I should have mentioned that, sorry!
