Is it possible to use Luma3ds with GW/MT card? I know you can dual boot with emunand but is it possible to do it without having emunand? Having 4gb removed from SD card for emunand (n3ds) seems undesirable.

Using emuNAND not redNAND with sysNAND Mode works to use the exploit or cia to start gateway.
MT is dead and doesn't support any new emuNAND.

I saw this

Yeah but if I were to use AL9H and Luma3ds, can I still enter sysnand mode with GW/MT?
Even for the N3ds? I thought it was 4gb?
N3DS can be 1.8gb at largest! Check this page out: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/NAND-SizeEven for the N3ds? I thought it was 4gb?
Maybe possible to use mt, but there won't be any progress since its dead like fixes for ap.
a9lh doesn't change anything, sysnand mode is possible.
Depending on your chip, its either 1,3gb or up to 2gb.
The difference for rednand/emunand is the start sector.
rednand starts at the beginning of the memorycard and has less wearout.

Interesting. So with a9lh and luma3ds installed, how would I go about entering sysnand mode on gw?
The same way as always. Either without emunand inside memorycard, or hold b while pressing a from gateway menu to start nand.
Wouldn't it automatically boot into luma3ds instead of gw menu?

Who said you can boot gw menu right from boot?
