Hacking The Wonderful 101 - How to load it in 15-20 seconds (EUR version) but problem...

I followed the same procedure as Star Fox Zero using The Wonderful 101 updated version (you see if it is updated if you have the \content\data002.cpk - if it is missing it is NOT updated).

I extracted data002.cpk using the same star fox zero "method" and then repacked the file with the \sound\stream content and deleting english and japanese folder.

The game now takes 15-20 seconds to load but i have a problem: the dialog audio seems to be "cut" at the very beginning of each sentence... is there a way to avoid that ?

NOTE
Files WERE NOT RECOMPRESSED except for the 2 files that were origianlly present inside the data002.cpk, all the rest was repacked uncompressed.

EDIT:
I tested without recompression even on those 2 files, same result, dialog audio is cut.

SOLVED !

Even in the EUR version, if you want to repack data002.cpk you NEED the presence of \sound\stream\English(US) folder ! You can delete the \Japanese one. In some site you download the game WITHOUT that folder, probably because without it loading times were shorter.

Excellent find my friend you must upload your good work!. I was actually wandering yesterday reading about starfox if anything like this can also be done with Zelda Twilight?

What you need

- The Wonderful 101 (USA/EUR) in Loadiine format (folders \code, \content and \meta)
- game update ! (if you have \content\data002.cpk it is updated, if not you need to download the update from NUS, decrypt it with the common key and copy it over your not-updated game folders)
- verify you have \sound\stream\English(EN) in your game folder (in some downloads this folder is missing and if you don't have it the dialog audio will be chopped)
- This toolpack


PROCEDURE

1 - extract the toolpack in a folder of your choice
2 - start CriToolpack.exe and feed it with \content\data002.cpk
3 - extract the 2 files inside:
st4/r400.dat
st5/r500.dat

4 - copy them in a folder, ex C:\temp
5 - copy in c:\temp also \content\sound\stream\ to have C:\temp\sound\stream\*.*. with all its files and folders
6 - DELETE C:\temp\sound\stream\Japanese (keep \English(US) !!)
7 - start CPKTools exe
8 - click, in "Build CPK" part, "browse" and feed it the C:\temp folder that should now contains the following structure:
c:\temp\st4\r400.dat
c:\temp\st5\r500.dat
c:\temp\sound\stream\*.*
c:\temp\sound\stream\English(US)\*.*

9 - set the following parameters:
-- Align: 2048
-- Coding: UTF-8
-- Mode: Filename
-- REMOVE the checks from both Dir.Mask and ForceCompress
10 - click "browse" in the lower right corner, choose a destinantion folder and use the name file data002.cpk
11 - substitute data002.cpk from step 10 to the original one
12 - completely delete \content\sound\stream\ game folder (all the files/folders are now inside data002.cpk)
13 - DONE - Warm up in 15-20 seconds ;)

All this was possible thanks to the one who managed to repack Star Fox Zero data, I don't know who did it first ;) (they tell me it was liomajor - thank you man !)

And you leave the folder stream empty? (in that case just with the English(US) folder empty too)
Don't know what I'm doing wrong but just get black screen
I'm trying with EUR version of the game and my console is USA

Hmm... maybe only the usa work with usa console
Just one more doubt, your data002.cpk contains this scheme:
st4/r400.dat
st5/r500.dat
sound/stream/*all the files
sound/stream/English(US)

Is that ok?

think ive sorted it out your folder structure before you build your cpk it needs to be like this

c:\temp (base dir for all the work you will be doing)
c:\temp\cpktools (folder with cpktools)
...
c:\temp\repack (folder will i put all the extracted files/sound files)
resulting in
c:\temp\repack\st4\r400.dat
c:\temp\repack\st5\r500.dat
c:\temp\repack\sound\stream\assload of sound files
c:\temp\repack\sound\stream\English(US)\assload of sound files

when you build your cpk point it to the c:\temp\repack\ folder
you can check if the cpk is built correctly by running critoolpack.exe from the cpktools dir and loading the repacked cpk and looking at the dirname column they should be 'sound/stream' and 'st4' and 'st5'

EDIT: this seems to work no audio cutting out and i have background music and good loading times, i created the folders (/stream/English(US)/)on my sd card just in case not sure if it makes a difference or not

Proper rebuild of data001.cpk: (should fix missing audio since it shouln'd be compressed)

1. Extract with CriToolpack1.0 all files from data001.cpk with decompress CRILAYLA (single file only possible)

face/face_fox.dat
face/face_fox_new.dat
face/face_naus.dat
data_cpk.fst
effprim.epb
graphic.bxm
shader.dat
shader2.dat
shadereff.bxm
shadereff.dat
shadersetting.bxm
ShaderSign.dat

2. Place all files in one folder, example: c:\temp
3. Copy your desired language into that folder, example: c:\temp\sound\stream\English(US)
4. Start CPKTools
5. Hit 'browse' and choose c:\temp
6. Data Align: 2048, Coding: UTF-8, Mode: Filename, no Dir.Mask and no ForceCompress
7. Choose 'save path' and 'filename > data001.cpk'
8. Start to Build your new file
8.1 Edit your .csv file with a texteditor of your choice and change for the following files from 'Uncompress' to 'Compress':

face/face_fox.dat
face/face_fox_new.dat
face/face_naus.dat
data_cpk.fst
effprim.epb
graphic.bxm
shader.dat
shader2.dat
shadereff.bxm
shadereff.dat
shadersetting.bxm
ShaderSign.dat

Example: C:\temp\data_cpk.fst, \data_cpk.fst, 0, Compress
(File on Disk, file in .cpk, ID-NR, Compress or Uncompress)

8.2 Use the following commandline to create the new 'data001.cpk' in 'c:\':
cpkmakec cpkmaker.out.csv -align=2048 -code=UTF-8 -mode=FILENAME c:\data001.cpk
9. Replace data001.cpk with this new generated file
10. Remove ALL language folders from content\sound\stream
If you want, you can add all audiofiles from 'stream' folder,
but have to remove the files or the game is stuck on loading!
Max. 2 Languages inside .cpk or game will blackscreen.

i just used repack cause i had other files in c:\temp
deleted stream folder completely works great now

After i downloaded all the latest updates, decrypted all the files. I went looking for the "data002.cpk' file in the content folder and it wasn't there! only the "data001.cpk" file that was in the source folder. what step am i missing to get this data002.cpk file???

This is the directory that Uwizard created with the new game data files and folders:

C:\Users\sdg\Desktop\Uwizard\nus_content\000500001012DC00\0\content
this happen to me also. the first time I downloaded the up date data002 not present. don't know why but when I tried this again this time it was their. id give it another go. havnt got this game to load yet still workn on it.
