Hi,

is there any option to get my EZFlash Vi to work my 3DS? Sysnand is on 9.2. I am using a gateway with EMUNAND but also get managed to install rxTools using the same EMUNAND.
My main questions is "How can I run NDS Roms" (no cardridges). So I thought maybe with my "old" EZFlash Vi. Or are there any other option? Till now I am afraid of installing Luma3DS.... So please tell me there are other ways :)

Thanks Guys!

You risk nothing by installing Luma3DS, just do it, you'll be fine! ;)

Thats definetly not to long but thats to short for me. Because there is so much more to do isn't it? I saw a lot of down and upgrade. Getting a OTP (or something like that). I got this as a full manual:

The one you got includes installing A9LH. If you're not interested in that, just follow the guide I gave you.

Ohhhhhh...... My mistake. Ooohhhhhh.... No it's much more charming =D =D.

Aehm but I can't upgrade from anywhere. SO pleaaaaseee tell me what to do. I put all those files onto my SD Card (green and pink because I don't have A9LH). I already have menuhax installed (I think). Or let's say I know how to launch the Homebrew Launcher. So how to "launch" or "install" LUMA ? Sorry... I am really trying to understand everything. Can I launch LUMA from within HBL?

Thanks everybody!

You can launch Luma3DS from HBL.

Don't feel like you have to install A9LH to run Luma3DS. It's purely optional, as Luma3DS works just fine with the *hax family. The Luma3DS installation is literally just downloading and copying files to your SD card. It's the A9LH installation that takes some time to complete.

Should you opt to go down the A9LH rabbit hole, I just wrote up a guide listing your current options as a Gateway User. http://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-how-to-use-gw-luma3ds-a9lh.424117/

YEAH! It is working! EZFlash Vi is running under my O3DS with Luma3DS!!! whoohhoooo

What else can I do with Luma3DS? Can I play VC GBA games installed via cia? Do I need to install CIAs via gateway or doesn't it matter how it get into my EMUNAND? I am very exited!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can I do the same process with my N3DS? I mean repeat all steps and run Luma on my N3DS? How can I re-enter the Luma config screen? It just shown up at the very first start.

You can play GBA/DSiWare while in Luma3DS. However, you'll have to install them to both SysNAND and EmuNAND in order to load them in EmuNAND.

You can do the exact same thing for your N3DS as well. To re-enter the config screen, you have to hold Select while loading Luma3DS.

Edit: The easiest way to go about installing cia to SysNAND is to use Decrypt9 to inject FBI into Health & Safety. Then hold L while loading Luma3DS to boot into SysNAND, assuming that you have "Autoboot SysNAND" turned off for booting EmuNAND by default.

Ok so I'll leave the GBA/DSiWare out. Don't want to install anything to my SYSNAND. Can I play Japanese 3DS Roms from within Luma? Any other benefits when I use Luma instead of rxTools or Gateway? Besides that I can NDS rom now ;)

Since you already have a GW, you can use that for loading out-of-region .3DS roms. The only benefits that adding Luma3DS to your current setup is to be able to load your EZFlash and run GBA/DSiWare. Everything else that it can do are pretty much doable with GW Mode.

If you're worried about not installing things to SysNAND for resale/warranty purposes, you can always take a dump of your current SysNAND before doing the FBI injection and installing GBA/DSiWare. Name it sysnand_virgin.bin and keep it in a safe location.
