Just use 107.211.140.065 as a DNS to block every Nintendo server. And if you need to access the eshop, disable it and reenable it as soon as you can.
Yes, but the only thing that really worked for meThat's some incredibly bad advice.
God awful, in fact. What if you forget to re-enable it? There's also the fact that it only takes minutes to download an update. That's some incredibly bad advice.

Sweet, looking forward to it!God awful, in fact. What if you forget to re-enable it? There's also the fact that it only takes minutes to download an update.
Anyway, when I get back home I'll give you the DNS server I myself use. I have it entered into my router, and I've got that nice red X.
EDIT: It allows for the eShop.
Oh crap, I'm sorry. This has been "proven to not work". I have been using it as my primary DNS for some time now, but people have been calling foul, so I don't feel comfortable sharing it. You could probably find it, though....Sweet, looking forward to it!
Does it work for you though?Oh crap, I'm sorry. This has been "proven to not work". I have been using it as my primary DNS for some time now, but people have been calling foul, so I don't feel comfortable sharing it. You could probably find it, though....
Confession: I've been using it, yes, but also the tubehax DNS (but I figured as a secondary DNS it wouldn't matter - it does).Does it work for you though?
If it does, it should be fine, no?
Could you PM me it please? Thanks!
What firmware are you currently on?Confession: I've been using it, yes, but also the tubehax DNS (but I figured as a secondary DNS it wouldn't matter - it does).
I'll put it in this post, but I'm deadly serious, people have been recording updating out of the blue when using this (maybe there's a reason the eShop isn't blocked...). But as I said:
205.166.76.187
Use. At. Your. Own. RISK.
I'm on 5.3.2, and I've been using this (primary) and the tubehax DNS (secondary) in my router for quite some time now. Let me test an update on my 3ds and give you the results (should block updates on the 3ds too). What firmware are you currently on?
If on 5.4.0 or lower, how long have you used the DNS for? Since it would be great to still be able to use the eShop, but of course, I don't want my system updating itself when the next update is released
Where'd you get the DNS anyways?
Alright, thanksI'm on 5.3.2, and I've been using this (primary) and the tubehax DNS (secondary) in my router for quite some time now. Let me test an update on my 3ds and give you the results (should block updates on the 3ds too).
EDIT: It's okay, I have A9LH. I'll survive!
Yeah, you could do that, too!Alright, thanks
Hmm, I'd probably use the DNS directly on my Wii U, and not my router
Since I'm not worried about my 3DS.
Hooray! I'm going to use it then. Thanks dude!Yeah, you could do that, too!
RESULTS: "An error has occurred. Unable to update. The system will now be restarted."
Now removing the tubehax DNS to test for a change....
EDIT: All good. Wii U update failed!
You're welcome! But I recommend (out of anxiety) that you enter the tubehax DNS for the secondary server. Y'know...just in case™.Hooray! I'm going to use it then. Thanks dude!
