OP
yeah.. so, I've been pretty much forced to use my O3DS for my NDS games, because when i launch a NDS game on my N3DS, I get a black screen.. it like, turns off the screen and just hangs, doesn't do this in SysNAND, without Rxmode.. so i feel like it has something to do with TWL and Rxtools

I remember on my O3DS i had some files to replace before i could use TWLSlot1Launcher

Possibly my TWL_Firm patch files are not right? or is there something else?

Also, when it locks up, I have to hold the power button for like.. a minute before it kicks me to the home screen

Why not just use your O3DS?
Because i want to preserve the buttons on it.. they are already starting to lose, uuuh... tactile-ness? they aren't as stiff as they are supposed to be

Also, my N3DS has a much longer battery life, so i could play longer (obviously)
On my Acekard on my O3DS i get at least an hour and a half of play time before the battery dies

so nobody had replied to me.. hmm, that's helpful

I still have this problem, which also means that anything that used TWL mode doesn't work

Then maybe reinstall an unmodified version and switch to AuReiNAND.
You can boot it via Homebrew Menu so no need for a9lh.
Also you have two possibilities:
You boot to emuNAND and as long TWL_FIRM is not patched, it should work.
Works for me at least and I'm on 10.7 and every game I own as well as blocked Action Replays.
As it's easier when you use it anyways all the time, I recommend using this one.

You can also boot to sysNAND were the original TWL_FIRM should be installed.
There you need to make sure, you use updated sysNAND mode in AuReiNAND.
I'm not sure if this is possible w/o a9lh but probably yes.

Eventually rxTools is dead, all functionality can be found in Decrypt9 and AuReiNAND with addition that patches to FIRM are now compatible to N3DS.
You can easily switch and won't regret it.

Do you have the boot.3dsx in root?
Maybe try reinstalling it and don't forget to create the theme cache by clicking the theme selection in the home menu.

How did you do it, merge folders?
AuReiNAND.dat needs to be in root and the firms for the N3DS need to be in a folder called aurei.
The FIRMS.7z can be obtained via the github page.
You need to pick the FIRMs in the N3DS and a9lh folder an paste it in aurei.
That's all, even easier than on rxTools.

aurei needs the a9lh bin even if you don't have a9lh?

Also, i couldn't have merged any folder sif aurei wasn't installed before

The AuReiNAND.dat is like code.bin from rxTools or Launcher.dat from some other CFW.
The arm9loaderhax.bin isn't necessary that' true, additionally the 3dsx boots the .dat file so that is also important.

Great, so do I, you can make it as boot option 1 with autoboot, that's what I would do if I already wouldn't have a9lh.
If you choose the 3dsx, the options menu is more reliably visible, if you boot .dat directly it sometimes shows but however isn't displayed and the time isn't that much less to do this imo.
Also the offset has to be specified.

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
