NOPE! They already found out how to do it, but they need more technology, something that I can't supply. (They dont actually know the cure for cancer but they have lots of ideas)

So I moved on to thinking, maybe Alzheimer can be cured by me.

NOPE AGAIN! They found a bacteria that can stop Alzheimers in some patients, they will be refining it and putting it out in a decade or so.

Maybe I could make implants for people, like for spinal cord injuries.

I just feel sad now.

That's another reason I wanted to do it myself. I would find it under the rule of a big drug company, and probably leak the info to someone not legally bound to the drug company so it instantly becomes public domain.

Seriously speaking, I think it's very selfish to feel depressed over the fact that cures for horrible diseases are being invented just because it wasn't you. Cancer victims have dreams, too.

Cancer is a piece of piss to kill, the trick is not killing the patient in the process. It is also not one disease any more than sneezing is the result of one disease, lumping it all together being a fairly good indicator that this is not your gig (it is not mine either but I know that much). Even with all that you still have the detection issue -- kill it down the last cell and that is great but if it had already grown for years and compromised blood, nerves and whatever else and you are still faced with problems.

Beyond that the things you mentioned are some class leading endeavours, you ain't doing that solo. Broadly speaking there are two classes of research scientist
i) Those that do the radical stuff, either because something new gets discovered so anybody can pile through the door and become a world leader. Or they do a shit tonne of drugs, forget the received wisdom and get it sorted.
ii) Those plug away for 30 years and get the stuff discovered by rock stars working, perhaps 10% more efficient, more reliable (including quality of life) or some such.

If you want some radical stuff within the biology field still though then there are lots of things doing with stem cells. Anything you mention there will likely be aided dramatically by stem cells.

Other than spinal injuries you would be hard pressed to find someone without a friend or relative troubled by some form of cancer or dementia.

they can't cure anything and they don't wan't to either there is no money in cures

if you want to cure something see if you can cure me, i was poisoned by the medical mafia 4 months ago with flouroquinnolone antibiotics they have completely destroyed my life , 2 500 mg pills of cipro ruined my life ,gave brian damage, hearing damage ,nerve damage, eye floaters and about 50 other symptoms

i did not sleep for a whole month after i took the second pill and had the initial ADR adverse drug reaction
the medical system refuses to help or even acknowledge there is a problem i have been to neurologist ,gastroenterologist ,PCP and the ER like 20 times they will not help they do nothing but ignore me and deny my symptoms
