if you have a hardmod, you can backup your SysNAND before running any kind of CFW.
If you do not have a hardmod and are on 9.0-9.2, you can run a CFW like minipasta then backup the NAND with Decrypt9
If you are above 9.2, you will need to downgrade to 9.2 first before you can backup your NAND with Decrypt9.

yes i can connect to the net since i can access browserhaxmake sure your 3ds can connect to the internet properly and try running it again.
You gotta set up a connection in your sysNAND first, assuming you haven't made an emuNAND yet.
this is the step https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Homebrew) that im having trouble. i can load the browserhax just fine but menuhax isnt working

you can use browserhax instead of menuhax for the steps, This will not cause any issues. just skip installing menuhax and use browserhax to load the homebrew menu when you need it.
Read the guide, it tells you exactly what to dook thanks. so for part 2 do i copy plaisysupdater.cia too or just the 3ds folder? same for emunand do i copy all content or just the folder?

copy just the 3ds folder, the CIA is not needed for part 2
- Copy and merge the 3ds folder from the PlaiSysUpdater zip to root of your SD card
EDIT:
the best way to follow the guide is to do exactly as it says to do, do not overthink and do not assume anything.
If you do that, you will have a very high chance of success getting your OTP and installing A9LH.
you are following the correct guide, which is the one by @Plailectwhich guide is that? sorry im confused since im already following the guide. I also noticed that when im in browserhax my wifi signal icon has a red x
I love how we just refer it to "the guide" now. Like nothing else needs to be said. We all know which one it is.you are following the correct guide, which is the one by @Plailect

Thanks. now my next problem is the plaisysupdater. its always stuck at "hax init..." i have done this over and over like 10 times already. is this really a common behavior?
yea, it is common. some people have better success if they launch FTBrony first, exit it by pressing B, then launching PlaiSysUpdater.
launch FTBrony then Force close it with L+R+B+Down. Afterward, launch Plaisysupdater.is there a way to enable wifi when the browserhax is launched? i checked the wifi icon on the upper left and it has an X mark. cant exit ftbrony since it says i dont have wifi.
launch FTBrony then Force close it with L+R+B+Down. Afterward, launch Plaisysupdater.
still nothing. im still stuck at hax init... is this really a freeze or do i need to wait? is this like an in progress? what are signs that it is installing the update?
