Hi huys.
Long story short. My cousin bricked his new 3DS XL. We done the hard mod and brought it back to life. Deep joy.
Few days later we had to cut the case and tidy the wire install. Before I glued it is place I asked him to check everything was still okay so we hooked up the sd card reader etc and made sure the 3DS was detected. Yep all was good. I took the battery out and put everything together.
Went to turn it on and all we got was a blue light on then off.
I took it apart again and removed the hard mod.
Now here is where it gets worse. When putting the ribbons back we broke the latch that holds the ribbon for the bottom LCD. Check the photo.
What can we do now.
Thank you for your help in advance guys.

When this would happen with PSP motherboards i'd put the flap in and push it down with eltrical tape and apply pressure with something like a folded sticky note. That flap that came off is not a part its the board itself either you can try your luck fiddling with pressure or buy a new board.

Thank you very much sir. I suspected as much. I would be interested to see what you mean by applying pressure with a sticky note.

Thank you again for your help. Much appreciated

Pretty sure someone's clip has broken here on GBATemp in the past, and he got by with just super gluing it in place. Of course you'd only get one shot, so if you mess it up,,, whoops.

what you could do is just get some semi decent superglue the brush kind from either games worksshop etc

brush glue or just glue where the flap attaches at the sides just before you attach cable and flap

should seal it instantly

I hear you dude. That is a separate issue as before all this site happened, on reassembling the 3ds I would get a blue light on blue light off kinda error where the 3ds don't turn on. I put this down to the ribbons or am I wrong? Could this be nand flash issue? If it is the ribbons then glue would truly be a one shot chance.
