Why July ? because the process takes time and in July I'll be the only one at home for 3 weeks meaning I'll be able to occupy the family computer and wi-fi for hours without disturbing anyone else...
In the mean time I am wondering what i can do to be best prepared for the switch...

1) I use rxtools with a 9.2 sysnand and 10.7 emunand on a O3dsXL, do I start at step 4 after changing menuhax or do I switch CFW for cakes (like in the guide) or Aureinand (more noob friendly apparently) before downgrading?
2) I have the flashcardtimewrap.cia, v0 whitelist and bluecardfix.cia installed on my Emunand throuh Devmenu_2x do I have to uninstall them and if yes how do i find them among my NAND titles ?
3) I already have FBI injected on my Emunand health and safety but I used rxtools to do that and the FBI version I have is 3.1.8 and not the latest, do I need the latest ? If yes how do I inject it ? I suppose i'll have to reinstall the normal HandS app? Where and how can i find and install that ?
4) I heard injecting FBI through rxtools fragments the NAND, and having fragmented NAND can cause errors in OTP helper...how can I defragment my Emunand?
5) I have my one and only NNID linked to my Emunand but not my sysnand (i did a sysnand to emunand system transfer from my first O3ds unhacked at the time, to this one), and my pokebank account with a bunch of pokemon is tied to it...what will happen to it ?
6) I made my Emunand using the gateway launcher and not Emunand9, do I have to recreate an Emunand with Emunand9 to replace my current one?
7) If I want to keep using emunand after installing A9lh instead of using updated sysnand ? What do i have to do? I heard I just have to select all the options apart from the updated sysnand one in the Aureinand setup...Is it true ?
8) Is there a way of knowing one is in emunand using Aureinand ? Like the RX-E thingy before the version number ?

Sorry for the big influx of questions...I really want to be well prepared before jumping to A9LH because I don't want t brick my main 3ds...

What I do any time to get the OTP:
1) Buckup emunand and sysnand, then format twice emunand with tiny format.
2) Instal sysupdater to downgrade emuand to 2.1
3) Use OTPHelper to inject this 2.1 emunand in sysnand
4) Take the OTP in 2.1
5) re-inject the first emunand and sysnand
6) You can use the old method to instal A9LH or the SafeA9LHInstaller.
You don't need the latest FBI. And all of your data will be saved with the emunand buckup (just as NNID or save games that stay in NAND).

You shouldn't be worried about bricking. Most bricks are user error.
Why do you want to use EmuNAND? If updated Sysnand CFW wasn't safe it wouldn't be in the guide.
Also, you can use a 9.2 EmuNAND to boot into Gateway, so that point is also invalid.

How do you boot into updated sysNAND with Gateway? What I've tried is launching Gateway via CIA in 9.2 emuNAND, then using the launcher to boot into sysNAND, but I just get black screen :C Any ideas?

Well i'm used to using Emunand and extra safety doesn't hurt...besided since I use an 03ds I'd only loose 1gb of my SD card...

And my NNID is only on my Emunand and not on my sysnand...

i heard it boots faster and more reliably than Menuhax...besides i'm scared of doing it that's why I want to wait until July...I want to take it slow. Only one big changege at a time...

It boots faster because it boots in sysnand, basicly. You won't gain that much time using emunand.

That's untrue. It still pretty much halves emuNAND boot times, and boot rate is increased to 100%.

same problem for me
the cia need a real 9.2 for boot (so 9.2 sysnand)
so if your 9.2 is emunand, just start gateway.3dsx with the hbl launcher as cia :)

Not even much time, or not as fast as it is to boot sysnand. You did not understood my point, no that it wasn't true xD.
"It boots faster because it boots in sysnand, basicly."
That statement is false. It boots slightly faster if you boot into sysNAND, but the booting into sysNAND over emuNAND is not what makes Arm9LoaderHax faster than Menuhax.

The first Step would be Ditching RxTools & Switching to either ARN or Cakes now, at least getting used to the CFW you plan to use with a9lh.

It boots faster because it boots in sysnand, basicly. You won't gain that much time using emunand.

That's not True, Emunand + A9LH skips Sysnand boot entirely, shaving half the Menuhax boot time.

You need to use AuReiNand so you can boot the EmuNAND with firmware90.bin by holding L while booting.
Then you need to take out the Gateway card before booting the menu, hold B while pressing the button to launch Gateway.
It will ask you if you want to boot SysNAND. Press A, and it should work.

If that doesn't work, are you using a GW spoof? If so, that might be the issue.

That doesn't make the "extra safety" or "just a little bit of wasted space" point any less invalid, though. It's just paranoia.
I've yet to hear of a SysNAND update with A9LH that wasn't due to user error. You don't exactly see Nintendo trying to patch EmuNAND, let alone A9LH now do you?
And if you read the guide you would know that your EmuNAND and SysNAND will be swapped, so you will keep your NNID on SysNAND.

RxTools should be ditched regardless. It's pretty much dead now.

While A9LH may skip SysNAND, booting EmuNAND is still slightly slower due to SD card speeds.
Just because it's minor doesn't mean it isn't a difference.

I'm doing exactly that. AuReiNand holding L to boot emuNAND. Then launch the Gateway CIA, holding L to bring up the Gateway Menu. Then hold B to launch sysNAND, confirm, then black screen. Dunno what a Gateway Spoof is though :P

Are you sure you have a firmware90.bin on the SD card?
If you're using the newest version of AuReinand it's been changed from the rei folder to aurei.

Yup. I can boot into Gateway emuNAND, but that's 9.2 so has limited use.
