For some reason whenever I boot up Monster Hunter Cross I get an error that says "An error has occurred. Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again."

I figured that it meant that I needed Free Multi Patcher to allow me to play out of region games but when I tried to boot it up again with the home menu patched with it I still got the error. I also tried installing the game with a different .cia but that didn't work either.

Am I missing something or should I keep on reinstalling the .cia with BigBlueMenu and hoping for no error?
(I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask questions, I'm very new and desperate for answers)

This is an out of region error. Either patch the ROM or use a CFW that supports on the fly region patching.
maby you can use the ntr CFW lang plugin
I'm using CakesCFW so I probably can't use NTR but maybe patching it might work but I'm not sure where I can find a patch. I'm also installing the 1.2 patch alongside the English translation but I don't think that really matters.

I found a region free .cia of Monster Hunter Cross and i tried that one but it still gives me the error I described in the OP. How can this be possible? Is AuReiNand the only answer to this?
