What I'm following: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax-&-Cakes)

I'm stuck on Removing RedNAND from your SD at step 5. I can't boot into EmuNAND holding down Y for some reason, yet I was able to boot into Decrypt9 just fine. I don't know what to do or where I messed up at. Any kind of help would be appreciated because I've been stuck here.

Thanks.

You mean you can't boot into emunand9? Cause you don't want to boot into your emunand. or Rednand.

EDIT: Seein' as you have a9lh installed if you made it to this point, you can always do the following.

1. Follow the tutorial up to when you need to boot into emunand9.

2. Take you're SD card out and put it in your computer. Rename your arm9loaderhax.bin to something else. Then put the emunand9.bin in the root of your sd and rename it arm9loaderhax.bin

3. Put your SD back in, turn your 3ds back on and it should boot Emunand9.bin

4. Follow the steps to remove your Rednand.

5. Restore your SD backup you made and then rename your original arm9loaderhax.bin back to what it was.

6. Profit

Well, I can't launch into EmuNAND9 by holding Y on boot or get to it through Homebrew so I'm not sure. I'm stuck on step 5 like I said because for some reason it won't work, and I don't know what I did wrong or what to do.

Removing RedNAND from your SD
  1. Press Select on the main menu to eject your SD card
  2. Delete emuNAND_original.bin from the root of your SD card
  3. Backup every file on your SD card to a folder on your computer, all files will be deleted in the next step
(if you followed Part 3 of this guide, you can delete the SD card backup from that - this will replace it)
  4. Reinsert your SD card into your 3DS.
  5. Hold Y on boot to launch EmuNAND9
  6. Go to "SD Format Options", then "Format SD.

Look at your bootconfig.ini and at bootctr9 it might not be setup correctly for emunand9, you should it use aureinand alot easier to set up over cakes.

Everything looks fine to me, weird. I have the files in the correct place.

I just saw it, so I'll try what you suggested, thank you.

It's not booting into EmuNAND9 still.

That means you are not using the right file, download the latest version and make sure you are using the one call emunand9.bin around 97kb I think and try again.

I'm using the latest release already and the bin file is 93.5 kb.

If not working go with my first advice and use Aureinand it's more user friendly imop.. or you can set up armselect instead of boot ctr9. GL.

Is it possible to start over from step 1 using minipasta? I can't access Cakes, EMUNAND9 or Decrypt9 on Homebrew currently. I don't know why emuNAND9 won't launch on boot.
You have to hold L+Y.
I've already tried that.

Hold on , you install arm9loaderhax correct????? Step 3 of that part tells you to backup your SD card on the computer, you can always format you SD card on your computer and then transfer the files back and everything should boot normally

Yes, arm9loaderhax installed correctly. Everything went smoothly until this. I had an issue with the Cakes step before, but I got it fixed by replacing the folder with the latest release.

When I was having issues booting, turns out the .bin files for a9lh to try to boot I still had in the root of my sdcard.
The files to boot (if still using plaliect's guide for cakes) need to be in the a9lh folder.

OP do you have the default.bin, y.bin and b.bin files in the /a9lh/ folder? Also, make sure you are pressing L+Y right after you turn on the power. Just pressing Y isn't enough.

Edit: I just read ifurys link, disregard this. I'd follow his advice and start fresh just to make sure your aureinand is up to date.

Here's my /a9lh/ folder. I've tried both Y and L+Y several times but it doesn't ever work.

You need to get rid of your emuNAND partition right? If you're really desperate, just put your sd card in your computer and format your whole sd card to remove emunand.

I don't know if I need to get rid of it or format my SD card. I'd rather not format it since I've came this far since all I have left is this and installing FBI into the SysNAND. I've followed the guide word to word up to Removing Rednand from your SD, step 5 and I've been stuck here ever since. I don't know why emuNAND9 won't launch. I might just try what iFury linked above, but I'm unsure if what I've done so far will affect it.

If I were to format my SD card is there anything I need to know before I do so? Copy and pasting the files back in would be fine, right?

Yeah make sure to copy all the files from your sd card to somewhere on your computer, but I actually take what I said back. I'd never removed emuNAND for sysNAND, so I don't know if emuNAND9 does something differently compared to a format from the PC
