Hacking Just got a R4i 3DS card, it wont boot or lock into the slot

So, i just received my r4i 3ds card and when i put it in my 3ds, it didnt lock into the game port so i had to hold it in there, the other problem is that it wont boot, the screen turns black and it says Error has occured, press and hold the power button, can anybody help me? Thanks in advance

you have a pic of the card? if its the one im thinking of the thing was a gateway clone and hasnt been updated in ages. but either way it not staying in the slot isnt good

No, a friend gave it to me, he said that he got the wrong card and he had a dsi, so he gave it to me

that or he doesnt have the proper files on the cart.

that cart would work on ur friends system. the 3ds on it just means it can work on the 3ds

Does it have v4.5 or RTS on its sticker?

Sticker isnt there, he probably removed it

If he doesn't have the proper files for his cart, it would probably show a menu error or a simple black screen instead.

Okay, trial and error time. Download all of the kernel files that are in English from here.
Extract them one to the microSD card and place the microSD to the cart
Using a friend's DS/lite/i, run the cart, if it works, great! Just update the firmware
If it doesn't try another kernel you've downloaded
