Hi guys,
really need your help. Even after full formatting and using the gateway microsd tool to help fix fragmentation errors. I still can't launch my games.
Anyone got any possible workarounds?

Edit: (Possible Solution)
It was a false fragmentation error, my card is perfectly fine BUT the problem lies with the 3DS Home menu.
My 3ds home menu is 3 rows, 5 columns (3 in the horizontal, 5 in the vertical) this setting gives me the false fragmentation error.

changing it to either 2 row 3 columns ( 6 icons) or 4 x 7 (28 icons) solved the problem.

Just a bit irritating though, anyone else got this problem before? Hoping to solve it but at least i can play my gateway for now =/

I had this problem before, I did format the sdcard, but then stopped copying my games by drag and dropping them to the sd card, instead jip you roms (store settings is faster) and right click on the files and "Extract to" the sdcard, DIRECTLY.

what happens is this way, the files are copied bit by bit next to each other, reducing fragmentation. windows explorer copying copies where there's space left.

also do not under any circumstance low level format or erase you SD card, this is for hard disks only, sdcard technology won't benefit from it and will deteriorate.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input! But i didn't get the part where you said to jip the roms and the store settings part?
What do i need to do for that?
It just stopped working all of a sudden and it's worrying =/
Really hope to solve it soon

yeah I know :\

use winrar or 7zip (or peazip)

zip your .3ds rom on you computer. (use the store setting it's faster) then unzip/unrar/un7z whatever with right click on your archive and choose extract to you SD card, it will write the rom differently than windows explorer drag and dropping.

Thanks for the help, just tried it and.. still getting the fragmentation error... is my card spoiled?
This is really shitty =/

Edit: used portable defraggler to check the defragmentation but there is no fragmentation! Really don't understand what's happening. Anyone else with solutions or similar situations? Do help!

Try fully formatting your SD, then make sure you copy games one at a time. If you ever want to replace a file, delete the old one first. A little annoying sometimes, but I haven't had any problem doing that. Copying two files at once will cause fragmentation in my experience.

delete the old one first? that doesn't make sense, because fragmentation happens when you delete a file and copy a new one. it will write where the old file was and if it's too large, it will write to another part of the micro sd, causing the file to get fragmented.
