Hacking Can't inject FBI to H&S (using Plailect's guide)

I always try to search around extensively before I make a post, but I still can't seem to fix my problem:

I am trying to install A9LH on my N3DS.. sysnand is 9.2.0, emunand is 10.7..

I am using plailect's guide, but I already have a gateway card, so I skipped part 1, 2, and 3.. (I started with part 4)..

But on part 4 from step #11 to #17 it has you dump your current health&safety app and inject FBI in to it..
After I injected it though, I entered emunand to make sure that H&S works, but it doesn't.. The H&S app icon is still there (bottom screen), but it has no icon in the top screen (when you are highlighting it) and it has no music......Almost as if it is corrupt.. And then sure enough, when I try to run it, it just tells me some thing like "sorry, this app couldn't be run, please redownload it again from e-shop"

I've tried doing steps 11 to 17 several times, but the "universal inject generator" always creates the same FBI app, and it always ends up with the same result..
I found Riku's guide to FBI injection, but he says his guide only works for O3DS and not N3DS..

So what am I doing wrong exactly do you think?.. Some how, the proper app isn't being generated, and I can't figure out why..
Do you guys think my gateway emunand is some how the problem?.. Should I erase my whole emunand and try plailect's guide starting from part 3 (and use cakesFW this time instead of gateway?)
I didn't want to lose all my emunand stuff, but if that is what is causing the problem, I will erase it any way and not use the gateway CFW this time; I will use cakes CFW instead like the guide says, but I want to make sure that this will actually fix the problem if I try it..

Emunand isn't the problem. What you're describing sounds like signature patches are not on. So if you hover over an unsigned app / cia game etc nothing will happen, the banner won't show up on the top screen and it won't launch at all.

Are you sure you're in emuNAND? What you described is what happens when you install an app on sysNAND and then look at it while in normal sysNAND (with no CFW active).

Plailect's guide part 4 step #10 and #11 says:
"10: Get into the Homebrew Launcher on SysNAND through the entrypoint of your choice"
"11: Open Decrypt9 (This can sometimes take a few tries), then go to 'EmuNAND Options', then select the 'Health & Safety Dump' option to dump Health & Safety to hs.app"

So, I am using menuhax to boot straight in to HBL (and then launch Decrypt9), so I assume I am running it on sysnand.. So is that leaving me with no signature patches? Would running Decrypt9 from emunand (using gateway) potentially fix this problem?..
And if so, then why is plailect's guide telling me to do it in sysnand?..

edit: Even on step #17 when it wants you to inject it back, it still wants you on sysnand it looks like..

I only learnt this the other day, but, Decrypt9 is like a super app that doesn't care where it is booted from, it can still interact with both emuNAND and sysNAND. It can't be booted from a firmware above 9.2 though, so if your emuNAND is above that you have to launch it from sysNAND.

I found it easier to use the NAND install version of DevMenu (both 2D and 3D banner versions are available, I used the 3D Banner one)
It is on that iso site.
It will install to the NAND so it will survive system formats and work for the guide just fine as you will not be required to delete files from NAND, which DevMenu cannot do but FBI can. you can also use DevMenu to install FBI if you want to use that for the guide anyway.

Okay so, I tried doing plailect's guide from part 3 this time which has you install cakesFW (temporarily) to set up the arm9loaderhax.. This time the FBI thing injected in to H&S just fine and works perfectly..
Also, I got through the whole rest of the guide with out any problems on my jap N3DS.. So I have A9LH now, yippy skippy I guess..

For any one else thinking about installing A9LH, I wouldn't recommend you try installing it with gateway as your CFW; instead, just use cakesFW to install it like the guide tells you to, then when you reach part 5 you can install which ever CFW you like (I chose AuReiNand, but you can choose cakesFW too if you want to)..

And time to sell my gateway card I guess; it really is completely obsolete now that A9LH has arrived.. And I don't really need the cheat function it has..

I'm actually having the same problem. I'm a N3DS XL and GW user with 10.7 emunand and 9.2 sysnand (obvs). I have the same error message pop up in GW.

I have reinand as a backup if it's really just booting emunand via gateway being the problem, but I was wondering if there might be a slight workaround using the red card. After I reformat with tinyformat the first time, I assume I'll be able to still use the red card's multirom menu to load the devmenu or bbm roms to reinstall tiny for the second reformat. Anyone think that'll work or should I just give up and use reinand?

Kind of like what Shadowtrance said, I think that for some reason gateway isn't patching all of the stuff that other CFWs patch.. Gateway is probably patching enough stuff to run games from its multi-rom menu and stuff, but aside from that gateway probably doesn't care about any thing else..

So yeah, I would try doing it with any CFW besides gateway.. That seemed to solve my problem..
