I wasn't sure how to continue with this, should i downgrade to 4.5 through the gateway launcher on the web browser? I haven't tried anything yet, and would like some advice on how to proceed please.

Yes, it will. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully.
This may be slightly tedious,
but once you get your emunand working,
update your emunand to 9.0-9.2 (make sure they work) from files taken from that iso site.
Once your emunand is functional in 9.0-9.2,
backup your 6.x sysnand, and Clone your emunand 9.0-9.2 to sysnand.
Once this is done, you can unlink your nands.
The reasons for doing this, is to enable coldbooting via menuhax.
(meaning, you can go straight into your CFW by only pressing power button. no need to access browser all the time or whatever)
Of course, read up these things clearly, and do at your own risk ><

just pointing out to OP that it's safer to upgrade to 9.0 on emunand, and once it works,
then clone it to sysnand,
as I don't think sysupdater can be used on 6.x.
edit: meaning, I believe sysupdater doesn't work on sysnand 6.x

Yes, but you're not going to worry about this until you have rxTools emuNAND up and running, and you're only going to use sysUpdater to update your sysNAND to 9.2 if you want to use menuhax to coldboot rxTools emuNAND.
To avoid any confusion, stick to the guide I linked to.
I should also point out that if sysUpdater weren't able to be used on 6.x, then your method of updating emuNAND from 6.x to 9.2 wouldn't work either.just pointing out to OP that it's safer to upgrade to 9.0 on emunand, and once it works,

I'm talking about something which is after OP setup Rxtools successfully,
and if OP wants to pursue coldbooting.
(you must remember OP is on sysnand 6.x, with no menuhax capabilities)
While sysupdater can't be used on sysnand 6.x,
surely the .cia file would work on emunand, right?
AND even if it doesn't,
the OP could use grab the relevant files from iso site (the page with the categorized updates based on region and console),
and install all the .cia update files via bigbluemenu/fbi/devmenu.
Hence OP will still arrive at 9.0 emunand.
I'm also talking about if the OP wants to pursue coldbooting with menuhax after setting up rxTools emuNAND. I'm well aware of how menuhax works and what's required for it. I suggest you actually look at the guide I linked to before repeating what's in it. In addition, you would also see that the guide uses the sysUpdater CIA on rxTools pasta mode in sysNAND when updating sysNAND to 9.2 for menuhax.
wasn't aware that the guide was updated for that.
Always back up your SD card files and nands, and give proper descriptions or details,
so that you won't confuse the nands version details and stuff.

Okay, i just formatted sysNAND (thus unlinking my NANDs) but H&S seems to of disappeared? I have emuNAND working, just no way to install CIAs on sysNAND...
