I have been playing the JPN version of Hyrule Warriors Legends for the last 2 months and how that the EUR and USA version are out which have the DLC and latest update i want to move over to one of those, but i understand that the save files on the 3ds are region looked so i need to change the region of my JPN save file to either EUR or USA. I have seen guides to do this but they all seem to be for .3ds file games and not .cia, is it possible to change the region of a save file for cia games?, is there a guide about anywhere at all?

Hyrule Warriors is the same game in every region. Extract your save using SaveDataFiler, or some other save manager. Then extract the save of the EUR/USA version. Copy the zmha.bin from the Jap save to the other folder, and reimport your EUR/USA save. All your save data will be there.

You need a save manager that decrypts the save. JK's Save Manager or SaveDataFiler do this, amongst others.

Ah, ok got JK's Save Manager, i have extracted the save from both my JPN and the EUR version, so i want to get the zmha.bin file from my JPN Hyrule save folder and replace it with the zmha.bin file from the EUR Hyrule folder and then load up JK's save manager again and import the zmha.bin file that i placed in the EUR Hyrule folder (orginally from the JPN Hyrule folder)?

Yes, take the jpn save, place it in the eur folder and overwrite the file if needed, then import the eur save. Worked that way for me.

Have you played the game yet? You need to have actually initialised the save in order to export it.

Yeah, ive done the first mission of the game
Odd. I'm not sure what to recommend, since I've only ever used SaveDataFiler. You could always get it from that ISO site and see if it works for you?

Ah, just check the 3ds's save data backup file and it looks like my JPN saves are still under the EUR version of Hyrule, would that be the cause, should i delete these save data files and then try?
