ROM Hack Does any one know how to make the cheats from speedfly.cn work with bootNTR?

This is what I did in order to make bootntr show the cheats. I created /plugin/XXX/cheat.plg on the root of the sd card, then I start the game and the screen flashes green (which means the cheats should work). But once I press x and y the bootntr menu does not list cheats for games.

- In my plugin folder I have multiple different folders with title id names for each of my games

- perhaps bootntr has a limit for how any cheat plugins it can handle at once? But that makes no sense since bootntr loads the plugins one at a time.

- it seems I can use the cheat plugin for bravely default from this website but that is it http://www.elotrolado.net/wiki/Cheats_para_NTR

- I was hoping to use the cheat plugin menu from this thread in order to see if the cheats works with the menu, but I can't figure out how to use it. https://gbatemp.net/threads/source-cheat-menu-plugin-demo-for-ntr-cfw.411032/

I think I found out why I can't get the cheats to work. Either the cheats are locked to certain regions (which is stupid), or the cheats require a combination of buttons to be pressed in order for the cheats to work. Either way I don't see bootntr being useful for multi region cheats, especially when people don't explain how they function or why they are locked to one region (speedfly.cn).

Yes inside the plugin folder is another folder with the title id as its name, inside the title id folder is my cheat.plg.

Edit: bootntr 3.2 and bootntr 3.3 are suppose to have the cheat menu built in, which means any cheat that is added to the title id folder is suppose to show up in the menu when you pres x and y.

So you said you wanted to use this ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/source-cheat-menu-plugin-demo-for-ntr-cfw.411032/ ) as your plugin? That's just a demo other people can use in order to create new plugins. Older plugins still use button combos while newer plugins pretty much always use a menu.

Thats probably what I am getting confused with, the older cheats and how they function and the newer cheats that use the cheat menu. Oh well I guess I will have to wait until newer cheats makes use of the cheat menu in bootntr.

I've been looking for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3ds NTR cheat plugin & for a working 1 for a long time with no response. I even downloaded the file from its Speedfly page even if it had a different number &still never got it to work. So hope you get it to work.

If the cheats plugin you've downloaded is not for the same id as your game, it's normal it won't work.
The plugin must be made for the same id as yours.

Older cheats work for my games its just that I have to push buttons on the 3ds in order for them to work, where as newer cheats show up in the ntr menu by pressing x and y.

They are for the same id its just that the cheats are older therefore they don't make use of the built in cheat menu inside bootntr, in other words I have to press buttons for the older cheats to activiate.

The below is only as an example so you understand
- let's use, Mario Kart 7 EUR game for this example with TitleID: "0004000000030700" you want cheats for it and have used the Mario Kart 7 EUR titleID as folder to put the cheat.plg from speedfly in it
- BUT the speedfly cheat has only cheats for the US/JPN game with titleid's: 0004000000030600 (JPN) and 0004000000030800 (USA) (i know, but it's an example)
- The screen will indeed flash cause it found a correct titleid folder with a cheat.plg
- No it will not do anything cause the cheat.plg doesn't contain a valid titleid to activate the cheats

That's why you always have to check speedfly for your game if it contains the EU titleid so you know the cheat in the plg file will work for your game

That's why you always have to check speedfly for your game if it contains the EU titleid so you know the cheat in the plg file will work for your game

Your right its just that I wish I new which cheat.plg on speedfly uses the old method of cheating or if they use the bootntr cheat menu.

Yeah thought it would. On 3ds sd card root/plugin/ I made a folder of the game title & placed it there. But don't know what else to do to make the files work before I boot ntr. Was just hoping OP was not having any issues with NTR cheat.plgs for his games.

Your right its just that I wish I new which cheat.plg on speedfly uses the old method of cheating or if they use the bootntr cheat menu.

check the info of your game you want to cheat on the speedfly pages click on the title with freen arrows running down (animated) then it will tell you how to activate the cheats (this will also show you for what titleid's the cheat is)
