Hacking Gateway EmuNand - Aureinand ... I'm Lost !

Hi everyone !

I think I didn't get nothing about this !
My final desire is to play some GBA VC injected games
From then I would like to set up a Aureinand. (It's pretty clear in my mind)

Today i'm in 4.5 -> GW 10.6 Emunand -> I set up Ninjhax 2.6 to access HBL (just set up the CTRBootManager btw)

How this CFW works ?
I want to keep my GW and I think the Aureinand just "patch" the emunand each time I launch it, am I right ?
I think I followed all the steps to set it up and just always get a Black Screen.

If someone can explain clearly how it works, because i'm quite lost with all these terms like A9HL ... lol. I stayed at payloads ^^

Aureinand does not work on 4.5 it requires min 7.x or higher

By the way, does it make any sense to stay on 4.5 today ?

The best sysNAND version for a sysNAND/emuNAND configuration is 9.2 (or 9.0) since it has menuhax (that you still can use even with a9lh).
And for a sysNAND only configuration using a9lh, well obviously whatever the latest firmware version is.

Dudes, he already has 10.6 emunand of course this works with AuReiNand. I would still suggest updating sysnand to 9.2 via sysupdater and then installing menuhax. This will get rid of any cubic ninja hassle and autoboot into your cfw. When you're done you can still go for a9lh but that's completely optional.

You don't need a new emunand or anything, AuReiNand (and any other cfw) can also use gateway emunand.

Normally you should already be able to boot AuReiNand with your configuration now. I am fairly sure you got wrong firmware files.

Why don't you try normal reinand first? Download the package, it has everything needed already (see my tutorial) and then just start the reinand.dat from your ctr. Should work.

Oops I have not seen that he is on o3ds and also I didn't know that AuReiNand needs 7.x, well then still updating to 9.2 would be a good thing to start with

I bought my 3DSXL when 9.2 was out and i downgraded it to 4.2 with gateway. I've been using that since. Today i restored my 9.2 nand backup and went through the A9LH process. As a gateway user its not as simple as 4.2 with the profile exploit, but it is much more future proof. Gateway claims to be working on a A9LH launcher, so i figured it would be safer to do all the upgrading and downgrading while 10.7 is still the current firmware so if something went wrong i could still use my ninjhax to downgrade back to 9.2. Everything works pretty well now, i just have to remember to hold L when booting to boot into the 9.0 FIRM sysnand so that i can launch the gateway launcher.

The 4.5 firmware was the giveaway using mset to load gateway.

Yes getting to 9.2 is goo regardless for @soaresden able to use menuhax to load ctrbootloader or similar and setup to load gateway or Auteinand on boot

9.2 can autoboot so it's the best thing

To Update, I use the cia version of SysUpdate via GW emunand
Create an "updates" folder in SD root and put all the cia of that FULL 9.2 EUR pack .zip

Launch GW via profile (last time I guess !) and launch the sysupdater app that will upgrade to 9.2.

Then in 9.2, MenuHax to load Ctrboot and setup GW and AuReinand.

Is that all correct ?!

EDIT : oops it seems that launching sysupdate via GW brick ! I have a OOT3D cart so i'm gonna setup to launch it on 4.5 right ?

Do not run sysupdater in gateway mode or you will brick. If you boot into sysnand with AuReiNand you can install the sysupdater cia to sysnand and run it that way.

Ok so Im on 9.2 now, Menu Theme installed, Ctr working at boot, but can't manage to boot ONLY Gateway without by Aureinand entry in that config file :/

EDIT : got it ! used the 3dsx version in gw update file on website
