Hacking Question about installing agb firm on new 3ds

I am wanting to play injected gba games, However, I am also scared to install it, FBI says its already their in nand and asks to overwrite it, I am pretty sure I followed the guide proper, I patched "0004013820000202.cia" But I noticed in his guides pictures its a different cia title to the one in his readme for the n3ds, Does he just have an o3ds? Just double checking so I dont brick anything, Thanks guys!

That's just FBI being nice enough to replace it for you, instead of making you manually remove it then install it.
You need the AGB firm for your system (O3DS or N3DS) then in FBI, switch Destination to NAND, and install the cia. Say yes to have it overwrite the original.

Ok so I did it and installed to nand, it wont let me install into emunand and my game in emunand still wont launch?

EDIT: I also just noticed that when booting cakes it says loading agb, The next line it was FIRM load failed

Your installing gba/ds games? Make sure they are installed on both emunand and sysnand then. (the games not that file you patched)

Okay, Two things, One, It is safe to install stuff to sysnand? and two, You can install ds games?! I thought that wasn't possible?

Yes. But you should only use it for gba. You have to have gba game installed on emunand (that is patched with the file) and sysnand (DON'T INSTALL THAT PATCH). By ds games i mean dsiware sorry.

I was told in the readme for it to install the cia to sysnand? And it will not install to emunand with fbi, I am so confused -_-

It is confusing. I just installed rxtools instead. (Though it isn't good for new3ds.) It has the patched files already.

But only if you want to play GBA games through Emunand. You can also choose to play them only through Sysnand (boot to it with Minipasta) and save some space on your SD card. In that case you don't need to install the patched AGB_Firm and Game in Emunand.

Mine are unlinked and the cia fails to install in my emunand, Any reason as to why?

Make sure you have destination set to NAND and not SD.

I have, But with unlinked nands it is pointless to have in sysnand.... fbi will not let me install to emunand

What? With unlinked nands you have to install to both EmuNAND and SysNAND (if you want to run from EmuNAND. You can also just install it to SysNAND). This is because the 3ds reboots into SysNAND to play GBA games.

I am all good now, folks in #3dshacks on rizon helped out a ton! They told me what you just did. Haha.
