I'm using Cakes and I Like it a lot. There's not much of a difference beetween then by now. AuReinand is more user-friendly and Cakes has some more versatility on your hands.

AureiNAND, has a better reboot patch that means your able to load DS/GBA and even games like smash brothers with easy.

Cakes is a little behind on some patches but allows you to disable patches if needed (good for testing things)

Auteinand easy to setup and use
Cakes more geared for advanced users

I use cakes. If it had agb_firm support, it'd be a clear winner. i still like it more since it was my first cfw lol

ReiNAND? Never heard of it =)

In all seriousness though, great work on your stuff o: Any updates on ReiNAND?
I've been working on multiple things (mostly adding stuff to ctrulib).. kinda was getting burnt out from reinand.. But I uploaded the reinand mod i used for my dev unit for a while.. i just happened to come back to it months later and fixed a few things, rebased it and voila, emuannd on dev units x3
I'll try to push a branch for o3ds soon-ish.

If only dev units were more easier to come by

AuReiNAND is what I've been running since I first installed A9LH and loved it ever since! Like everyone says, GBA and DS/DSi support right out of the box, SysNAND protection, faster boot speed, and regular updates.

Excuse me guys but I don't see the point in using a9lh despite the better boot rate and time...
Am I missing something?
for me, it takes 7 second to boot reinand with 100% bootrate on a9lh
where as if i used menuhax, it'd be like 30+ seconds with 25% bootrate

CFW running on SysNAND. So even faster boot rate. As well only needing to install GBA/DSi games once.

I'll add on to what the other 2 on top of me said.
You can boot any arm9 payload before sysNAND "boots".
So you can run something like Decrypt9 and unbrick your 3DS without a hardmod.

Can I use a9lh with emunand? I think emunand is safer since if you screw it no problem it is just a emunand and easy to restore a backup.

Yes. None of the CFWs force you to use sysNAND if you don't want to (but AuReiNand boots you to sysNAND after playing a GBA game, so you don't lose your save).

Cakes as my default one and, just for curiosity, I also installed AuReiNand and timed the booting times for both and they are pretty much the same, so I don't understand why people say it is faster.

It is technically faster. I don't recall if it's faster on emuNAND or sysNAND. (I know AuReiNAND has had some updates involving emuNAND.)

I used a stopwatch and, in my case, I can't say one is faster than the other (Sysnand only and usepatchedfw enabled with AuReiNand). Anyway, I'll stick with Cakes because it works with all I need and never ever had a problem with it. When all people were using rxTools, I chose Cakes and we all know what have become of rxTools
