Does anyone know the IDs for the characters who aren't playable (ie. Hans, Iagp, ect.)
They don't have IDs, if they aren't playable then they aren't playable, there are only a few exceptions but enemy only characters are not playable and therefor don't have an ID.

I tried getting both Kannas by changing a logbook copy of my file's native Kanna, but now the new Kanna has the wrong body type. Any way to fix this?
I'm not so sure, I used a Logbook Marth (Lodestar) and changed his values to match Kana (Female Nohr Princess), then copied some parent data offsets from Male Kana to paste over Fem Kana's data. So the way we did it are completely different in some manner.

How do you find parent pointers?
Okay, successfully hacked in a second Corrin. Are they supposed to have support text? The support options show up (EDIT: and the music even plays) but there aren't any conversations.

For the parent pointers, I just used a similar set of offsets from the Awakening Parent pointers (Which is after a set of FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF) or about E4 worth of offsets after the 07 pointer where the character data starts, and just found a set of values from there. I don't have any pictures saved showing what pointers, so it's up to you to find it.

As for the second Corrin in supports, I'm sure it's just a carry over from Awakening, if you want that second Corrin to support, you probably have to go to a prep menu before a battle, have the Corrin you want to support in the first slot, and then just save/reload your file, that Corrin should work as that game's main Avatar now. Albeit Fem Corrin will now have the same problem of "Her supports now just skip the conversations". just use the same method as stated and then you should be fine.

Unless we do what you did and ROM hack Garon into our army roster :ha:

I fixed my issue by using a male Kana from a previous file, removing his shield, copying the hair colour from my current file's Kana, and changing the Parent Pointers to match.
... Whatever works I guess! :toot:

The Before Awakening Trio have their heads glued to their body, also, can't get the freaking sprites to work.

Now, while this technically should probably be in the GBA section (you know, the namesake of this whole site), that's been a little "quiet" lately and this is strongly related to the topic at hand. Plus, you're basically masters of your field, so I figured you'd be the people to ask.

So, basically, I was inspired by the great works of the legendary @Olmectron and decided to try and save edit the Fire Emblem GBA trilogy, starting with Binding Blade (plus I got f'ed over pretty hard by RNG, seriously, almost everyone has 0 Resistance and I'm 1/3 of the way through the game).

So, I got my .sav, and opened it with a hex editor, and got to work. First, I played the game with the save to find out a few values:

Code:
GOLD: 3030 0xBD6

ROY LV 8 78 exp 24HP
R0x LV 8 4e exp 18HP

ELEN LV 13 21 exp 20HP
EN0x LV D 15 exp 14HP

LUGH LV 16 59 EXP 26HP
LG0x LV 10 3B EXP 1AHP

I decided to find out how to change gold first. As you can see above, my gold is 3030, BD6 in hex. Now, I search for 0BD6, and of course nothing shows up. So then I write it the way is in Awakening, Fates and most other games, that is D60B, and it shows up three times.

Ah. I guessed that one was for the "Restart Chapter" save, and another for the "Resume Chapter" save. I wasn't too sure about the last instance. So, then I try to change it to 0F 27 (9999), and play the game, and it apparently corrupts my save. Either the "Restart Chapter" or "Resume Options were missing, or "New Game" was the only option. So then I tried changing all three, the first two and the last two. Same thing.

I tried changing a few other values too, such as the above stats, and they either didn't show up (even in reverse order), or they corrupted the save. So, either the save is compressed/encrypted or I'm doing something wrong.

If anyone else would like to take a crack at it, here's the save:

Is it possible to delete Avatar and Ricken and then add them again using the save editor? I'm experiencing an issue where I keep freezing because of a cheat I used and need them deleted to (hopefully) proceed.

Is it possible to hack in kanna and eponine as regular units if I did male MU x Niles in my conquest save?
It's actually possible to get their paralogues if you haven't gotten them married yet by switching Niles gender in the GameData bin to female right before you get married and then switching it back to male right after you get married. But it sounds likes you've already gotten married. So, the only way would be to either capture some enemy units and change them into Kana and Nina or recruit someone else's Kana and Nina from online and then remove their shield so that they're able to support. The problem with either of those last two solutions is the game won't actually recognize them as your own kids or as siblings.

I'm not entirely sure why you'd bother save editing the GBAFE games, since it's trivial to hex edit the .gba file (i.e. romhacking) itself and even more trivial to simply memory edit using extant cheat codes.

Logbook child units still have their original parent pointers in their character blocks, you could just change their parent pointers to be the same as Corrin and Niles

As far as I know, Nightmare allows you to change base/starting stats, which is not what I'm after. As for RAM editing, I'd have to make a different cheat code for every change I'd want to make. Plus, the addresses would be different for every game for every language.

Overall, this would be more convenient for everyone, at least once I find out how to do it.

I love how they have critical cut-ins for Lissa even though you're, you know, not supposed to have her.
Even funnier that they actually programmed a critical cut-in for a character who exists only in a single DLC map and who can't even attack to begin with.
