Well, is a very weird thing that happened today in two completely diferent systems, and not only that, the o3DS uses emuNAND with RXTools, and of course, the emuNAND was on the latest version, and the new3DS is untouched.

Sudenly, first the new3DS asked to update via a nag, so I thought that 10.8 was already released, so I updated aaaand... still the same ver.

Same happened to the 3DS several hours later, the emuNAND prompted the update nag, updated and then.... system version still 10.7.

What the fuck did just happened here? Can someone explain this weird behavior?

Do you have any patches to Home Menu, browser or to any of the FIRMs installed?

Very likely this.

If you installed any home menu patches, DS whitelists (the non-spoofed), downgraded browser or other titles, the system will prompt you to update.

The other test is if you actually update, it should be incredibly fast.

Did you downgrade anything on emunand? Downgraded system titles like DS Cart White list can trigger the update prompt. Updating would simply update the outdated titles it detected. The version strings only change if CVER, and NVER were updated. which in your case they weren't.

Well, the only thing I patched was the AGB_FIRM with the GBA boot animation, maybe that caused the issue.

But on the new3DS I haven't even installed CFW to begin with, it is stock and has never been touched by any hax or something of the sort.

It can happen sometimes. For example,if the CFW uses 10.2 NATIVE_FIRM,the 10.7 firm will boot and work properly but the system sometimes can suggest updating the unit.

I hope you know there's no difference between the NATIVE_FIRM included in 10.2 and the NATIVE_FIRM in 10.7
