Hey guys. So, I have a quick question regarding patching my AGB_FIRM.

I'm on 9.2 with a 10.7 Pasta CFW EmuNAND.

In order for GBA Games to work on my EMUNand, I need to install the patched AGB_FIRM on my Sysnand as well as my EmuNAND long with the games on both NANDs. The problem is, my Sysnand isn't patched.

So, would backing up my Sysnand, installing that on my EMUNand (after I backed up my 10.7 one), install the modified AGB_FIRM and GBA Titles on my EMUNand, then installing the EmuNAND on my SysNAND work?

I'm just wondering as I just don't really want to brick my console at all.

Why not just inject DevMenu or whatever to sysnand..

I've tried injecting FBI in the Health & Safety Menu, but that just kept on giving me a "You need to redownload this eShop title" error. I've since then figured out that the firmware needs to be patched in order for me to install CIA's. So I figured this method would work.

As for DevMenu, I don't really want to download a leaked application meant for developers. So I'm fine using other alternatives.

Why not use rxTools pasta mode to patch SysNAND?

Lol I don't get why you don't wanna use a "leaked application meant for developers" though and I think it's just in the name but I wouldn't know lol. Anyways you can try bigbluemenu as a cia installer if you don't/can't use those two

bigbluemenu is just devmenu decrypted and recompiled under a different name.

Huh. That actually seems like a really good idea. Still checking it out and it does seem pretty easy to install. I'll see if I can tinker with it for a bit and find out the results.

Honestly didn't know that lol but I still don't understand what's wrong with a "leaked application ment for devs" no offense
It's more of a moral thing than anything else I guess. I just tend to not download leaked things if they're not absolutely needed. I mean, I get why people use it. It's just a thing of mine I guess xD.

Lol that makes zero sense you won't use a app designed by Nintendo that has been leaked to all but you will set up emunand so as you can install and play games illegally?? Thus depriving Nintendo of money very strange morals indeed.

I'm more confused by he won't use devmenu because it was leaked but he'll use EmuNAND which uses the leaked firmware keys.

Well, I did say that if it wasn't necessary. Those keys are necessary, so I'm fine with getting those if they are desperately needed. DevMenu isn't sorely needed. It's got other alternatives.

The logics within this thread is quite strange..
Yeah. I got some weird morals I guess lol.

Wait... Pasta is a sysnand CFW.. How do you have emuNand with it..l
Pasta has always been EMUNand, I think your mentioning Arm9loaderhax (I believe, someone prove me wrong if I'm mistaken.)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also another thing to mention, I did get GBA Games working in AGB_FIRM. It happened in a weird way though. Instead of doing everything on SysNAND, everything happened through EMUNand. I didn't have to touch SysNAND once which is really weird.

I basically backed up my EmuNAND first, then proceeded to back up my SysNAND. I installed my SysNAND onto the EmuNAND after that. With a direct copy of my SysNAND on my EmuNAND, I injected the EMUNand with FBI and installed the patched AGB_FIRM files. I then installed a homebrew GBA game to see if it would work and it worked just fine which caught me of guard. So I installed my 10.7 EmuNAND back onto the 9.2 EmuNAND.

Afterwards, I installed the modified AGB_FIRM files onto the 10.7 EmuNAND and the Homebrew game and it seemed to work absolutely fine.

The weird part is you usually have to install the modified AGB_FIRM on the SysNAND as well as the title in order for anything to work which in this case I didn't have to.

I have noticed though that if you install a title that you didn't install on the SysNAND that was directly copied on your EmuNAND, then it'll just give you an error. Again, really weird.

I'm now up to the point where I have two Super Game Boy games which I've injected into the Goomba Emulator. I'm now running into the issue of those not saving properly in the AGB_FIRM. So, I've gotten pretty far, just can't really fix the saving issue with the SGB games in the Goomba Emulator :P.

Okay... I'm sorry for saying that lol. I know I don't really have to apologize, but I mixed up CakesCFW for PastaCFW...
Trying to set this AGB_FIRM thing has been kind of stressing me out (nearly been doing it all day), so I'm sort of tired lol.
