I thought that arm9loaderhax made it so you boot into CFW XD so I would assume so unless I am misunderstanding the guide XD (is quite possible.)
You are in CFW you just need to inject FBI into the HS app (unless you are already or already have it in CIA form)

There's also miniCIA by Zoogie if your NATIVE_FIRM is low enough (but the OP is apparently on 10.7, so that won't help here; I was mentioning it more for knowledge's sake).

already done :) (an earlier step in the process which I originally did when I was booting cfw from the homebrew launcher before arm9launcherhax). Now I just need to investigate why fbi will not install certain software on my 3ds all of a sudden (it worked the first few time but has not worked since and I have not made any changes to the system). I wonder if 10.7 could be preventing it but that does not make sense as other software was installable in 10.7.

Could likely be just a bad backup if just one file doesn't work

it seems to be with everything I have tried to install since last night. I will try with a few more titles and get back to you with whether I have success or not (and maybe even try with a title I already installed as there is one I don't really mind losing).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

it appears that you may be right as I was able to uninstall and reinstall a .cia title I had installed before (also don't worry because I check that it was not space issues on my SD card.)

What error is it giving you, exactly?

why not use another of the cia managers? like bbb or red title manager
I have found some help in the IRC chat. I now use BBB and find that I have a better success rate with just converting the .3ds file into a .cia on my own :)

The error it gave was
Install failed!
Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer USA ...
Source: SOURCE_FSFILE_WRITE (0x1c)
Module: MODULE_NM_AM (0x20)
Level: LEVEL_STATUS (0x19)
Summary: SUMMARY_INVALID_ARGUMENT (0x7)
Description: <unkown> (0x1)

I found that the .cia file was invalid (using bbb which tells you the status before you try to install a file). It is much more effective to make your own .cia files imho now.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
