Hacking Did EmuNAND9 change my sysNAND's unique encryption info?

Hello there, today I decided to downgrade my 3ds and install a cfw to it. Everything seemed to go great with the downgrade (there were a couple of problems with some games and eShop titles that use updates), then I tried to set up the emunand by executing Emunand9 and making a complete emunand setup (did this after making both a sysnand and sd files backup). However, here begins the weird stuff. I restored the files after rebooting (as the console turned on, I shut it down, extracted the SD from the 3ds, put it on the pc and copied the files back to the SD card). And for some reason, after doing so the titles didn't appear in the home menu (the folder structure remained, though)...
After searching for reasons about this, I gave up and tried to get a cfw working since it would recognize the titles too (wouldn't it?).... it didn't recognize them either... I tried to restore the emunand by restoring the sysnand backup, but it didn't work either... the only thing I can happen to conclude is that for some reason both the sysnand and the emunand ID that they use to decrypt sd data is changed... help D: have I lost all the data? Is there a chance to recover it? I have an o3ds downgraded from 10.3 to 9.2, and the data involved in this includes a legal Super Smash Bros. copy I downloaded from eShop when it was released, a NSMB2 Gold Edition legit cia installed with NASA, tons of demos (some of them are special ones) and more...

P.S.: yeah, I'm kinda desperate...

Well the emuNAND and sysNAND ID after emuNAND9 would technically be the same as they're both a clone at that point. They're still linked and would use the same ID.

If you boot the console normally and then shut it down, is there still only 1 folder in the Nintendo 3DS folder? (other than private)

The fact the home menu layout was the same would mean you had the proper folder there. If you check System Settings->Data Storage->Nintendo 3DS is anything listed there?

Checking the SD files, yes, there's only 1 folder inside the Nintendo 3DS folder without counting the private one (however, inside this one there are two folders while checking on previous sd backups I made there was only one in there). Checking the System Settings, it doesn't list anything in any of the software categories, while it should....

Yea, there should only be 1 folder inside those ID folders. Does one of them have today's date? If so, looks like it might have created a new ID :(

You could try copying the data from one to the other and pray, but might be lost at this point :(

Both of them have today's date, however the one that is equal compared to the backups has an earlier date...
However, how could I create another ID if I haven't formatted the sysnand at all?

Damn, that's hard to process... I'll try something...

Delete the entire Nintendo 3DS folder first, then restore your backup of that same folder (I assume your backup will only have one folder inside the ID folder, if true then this should work)

Doing that right now, crossing my fingers...

Edit: That moment when I see the SK2 custom theme I made back in place along with all the missing stuff... it worked, dunno how again, but it worked...

All right, now the un avoidable question: why the hell did all this happen?

My only guess would be something partially menuHax related since you said the layout remained similar. No idea other than that if you never formatted or perhaps you used a different SD? The fact you had 2 folders in there though means it didn't create a separate unlinked NAND, but a sub-directory of the current one. Glad to hear you got it back though.

I've been using the same SD card. I should try and see after reinstalling a cfw (I erased everything and just in case I didn't restore the cfw files) if the titles display as well as in sysNand since they're still linked.

I still don't get how did Emunand9 did something like that. Does really menuhax affect it that much?

Anyway, it's kinda late right now, so I'll be trying again tomorrow. Later...

Oh, and least but not important: thanks a lot samiam144, I'm really grateful
