Fairly new to CFW's (have been using a Gateway to do my limited 3DS gaming) and was just wondering what the differences between them are now.

My current setup is N3DSXL with A9LH booting into AuReiNand Emunand on 10.6 with 9.2 Sysnand.

I know AU was the first CFW to support A9LH, but I see most of the others have added support as well. Is there any benefits to using one over another?

Edit: Summaries
A9LH Support:
ReiNand (3.3+), AuReiNand (3.4+), CakesFW (138+)

ReiNand - https://github.com/Reisyukaku/ReiNand
N3DS only

AuReiNand - https://github.com/AuroraWright/AuReiNand
O3DS and N3DS support
No ver string in system settings
Supports blocking of FIRM0/FIRM1 updates to prevent A9LH being overwritten by a system update (only really needed if using SysNand??)

rxTools - https://github.com/roxas75/rxTools
O3DS and N3DS support

CakesFW - https://github.com/mid-kid/CakesForeveryWan
O3DS and N3DS support

AuReiNand works on old3DS new3DS. As well works with A9LH, which allows it to use cfw on your sysNAND. Meaning DSi and GBA games only need to be installed on the sysNAND to work.
RXTools has tons of tools to work, but doesn't work with A9LH (yet.) Still it basically combines features of different homebrews into one cfw. So that's pretty cool.
ReiNAND only works on new3DS and really the only climb to fame was it was the first CFW to work emuNAND 9.6+. Still no A9LH.
CakesFW adds a few basic features to the boot process, like accessing multiple emuNAND's. But still no A9LH support.
What do you mean? I boot reinand on my n3ds xl on a9hl? It supports it?

cakes was a9l and the newest(nightly) ver of rxtools removed a lot of the tools because decrypt9 does it all so it will soon lose them in the release ver

I didn't know about cakes! Because I love Cakes! I've been out of the loop for about a week since my 3DS has been out of commission until today.

Official reiNAND doesn't work with A9LH yet (IIRC, I could be wrong,) but AuReiNand works with it. AuReiNand is a fork of reiNAND, using the same code, but tweaked.
Edit: my information is old, therefore incorrect nowadays.

Reinand was first for 9.6 n3ds emunand and a9lh.

Aureinand is a custom offshoot of reinand that just added a lot of misc features.

not anymore. did you try using the latest nightly? it's only rxNand now.
I haven't used any CFW's for over a week now since my 3DS was out being repaired. If that's the case, then GG RXTools.
Thanks! I didn't know this much progress was made in so much time! Like said, out of the loop, I didn't expect that much progress in so short a period of time.

.

RXtools removed all their tools in the recent updates it also has a A9LH branch
the only thing it has over Reinand atm is jut region free but gba doesnt work

Their reasoning is to focus more on improving the CFW but since they removed everything that makes it stand out and havnt improved or added anything its not worth anymore

Well that changed a lot faster than I expected in just a week's time.

They dumped the tools because they admitted that Decrypt9 and EmuNAND9 did the job better, if I remember correctly (but Rx has a menu which lets you boot them, i think?).

Honestly, I am kind of ok with that. Mostly because I found RXTool's NAND dumping was stupidly unstable for me. I found Decrypt9 and EmuNAND9 both did it far better.
Still, I love all-in-one tools. I prefer to have as little installed as possible and just have one thing to do everything. So this is bittersweet for me.

they removed it 12 days ago on their git hub i even asked them why they removed the stuff that made them iconic in the first place and *focusing more on the fw* was their reasoning, basically they are trying to make it have a boot menu for decrypt9 instead of inbuilt now.

But since Reinand has been ahead of them and they have not actually added anything to cfw since then there is no point going with RX until they pull their finger out.
Cmon you are a team of people(40 contributors total) vs 1 guy (and another 1 guy making aurei)

Btw the new rxtools menu, so very advanced btw RXtools are renaming aswell

dont worry they adding a button to boot Decrypt9 even though you could just do it with CTRBOOTMANAGER lol
