I'm on firmware 10.6 and am following the downgrade tutorial that is on the other thread, however menuhax seems to not install by any way.

I'm to set it up via Ninjhax but I'm getting some error on installing and i dont get the "success" message.

It says towards the end: Install Failed: 0x0000002. An error occured.

It seems to have something to do with the file USA25600_old3ds.lz as it says it failed to get its filesize.

Can anyone help me ??

So what am i suppouse to do to follow the tutorial?

https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Homebrew) this one to be clear
Literally copy-pasting from the tutorial that you have linked:

"If you are on version 10.6.0, you can find instructions for using ninjhax (requires Cubic Ninja) here, OOTHax (requires Ocarina of Time 3D and either a powersaves or another 3DS which has the homebrew launcher) here. Browserhax was patched with 10.6.0 and will no longer work."

I have already installed ninjahax. I can just jump for next step, is this it?

If you have already installed ninjhax you have just launch the hbl and proceed with the downrade.
Extract the starterkit as written
place the sysupdater into the folder called "3ds"
place the cias of the 9.2 fw (double check the region and if the fw is for the o3ds or for the new one) into the folder called "updates" placed on the root of your SD
run ninjhax to enter into HBL and from there launch sysupdater
wait
profit (hopefully)

Don't panic if it doesn't work. A format before the downgrade may be the fix you need if it doesn't work out (use recovery to get back to 10.6 if you get a brick on first attempt). Good luck.

I'm halfway through the process of setting up emunand, but i got a fear for this:

"
  1. Activate the "Enable EmuNAND", "Disable Signature Checks", and "Survive reboots when launching some titles" patches, then press Start to continue
  2. Select "Boot CFW" to enter EmuNAND
  3. If you boot into the home menu, you have successfully launched EmuNAND"

Is there a way to know for sure i'm on emunand from cakes??? it doesent say nothing on the system settings, and I'm afraid of formating sysnand

I don't think Cakes shows you're on emunand but you know you're there if you can launch stuff like FBI. Did you put a CIA installer on there first? Rxtools actually reports RX in the firmware area of system settings. Someone else can probably point out a better way for Cakes, just don't rush it.

Thanks for the quick response.

I'm able to tell the difference now following this ideia: https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/c...tell_if_i_installed_cakesfw_correctly/cz4fayg

I have an extra folder on my sysnand now(when i power off and power on again, right?)

Yeah, that says to make a folder on sysnand (call it sysnand), then boot into emunand and it won't be there. You should change the themes so that emunand looks different, too (red basic theme works well for sysnand, IMO, then blue for emunand). I mean, it should be pretty easy to tell which you're in once you're more familiar. The guide I followed had me install FBI to my sysnand before creating emunand, so I had that to help me.
