its possible the new pokemon games all use the .sav format named sav.dat@Asia81 do you know if it's possible to inject an emulator save into a virtual console game?
@Asia81 do you know if it's possible to inject an emulator save into a virtual console game?
why in gameyob lol? What I'm wanting to do is transfer my pokemon thunder yellow save that is injected into the virtual console pokemon yellow, continue playing it in gameyob, and then transfer it back when it comes time to transport them to x/y/oras.
Speed hacks, better colors (whites are white, not off white) and because I want to. o_o Also, gameboy borders.why in gameyob lol?
Yeah its most likely to do with the New VC is specifically made for Red/blue/yellow and they make it access the extra palettes because they are not used, would probably be fixed if they released Crystal which has full gbc palette use unlike yellow which is partialbtw, in case this hasn't been mentioned already.
The issue with colors, is VC issue, not the rom's issues.
Playing Pokemon Gold (injected) would have the same flickering, and same missing brown parts.
use JKS manager extract the save, copy it to wherever you placed the rom rename it to from sav.dat to romname.sav once you are done copy it back to the JK save folder it was in. rename to sav.dat and reinjectSo how would I extract/inject the vc save?
Currently using Gameyob to play the game in color. I've figured out how to transfer the save back and forth. You have to chop a line and a half of bytes off the end of the save file using a hex editor before you can transfer a gameyob save back to the VC game via SaveDataFiler.
Look at an unaltered save dumped from the VC title to see what size the save is supposed to be.
no especially when you consider L and R didnt exist until the GBA so it cant remap keys that didnt exist@squee666 is it possible to add L=A to the sprint/sprite/exp bar patches for both red and blue?
Oh well. I figured because X is mapped to Start it was possible to map other things. I guess that's in the emulator itself which no one has touched yet? Thanks anyways, love your work!no especially when you consider L and R didnt exist until the GBA so it cant remap keys that didnt exist
Yeah but in gameyob the audio crackles (using old 3dsxl).
So that is not an option.
Which version of gameyob are you using? I went with the DS/DSi version. I converted it to a CIA and it runs directly from home menu. Audio works just fine.
EDIT:
Here's the TWL version of GameYob:
gameyob_TWL.rar
It should work in the same way as the CTR version. INI file would go in the same place and it will load roms in the same way and what not. I have not noticed any audio issues when playing Pokemon Blue with it.
