Homebrew I am just so confused with 3ds homebrew (cfw and rom hacks)

I am new to all of 3ds homebrew and all the technical stuff about it. And I just want to know what to do. I want to install custom cia's and stuff and I'm not sure what sysNAND and emuNAND is and I need to be taught what all this is as well as a solution to my firmware problem. All the good homebrew stuff requires firmware 9.2 and I want to downgrade IN THE SAFEST WAY POSSIBLE from 10.5 (I know I should not of updated) to 9.2 and I want to learn how to do downgrade and how to install a CFW (also what are the benefits of a CFW) . I know what I am asking is a super broad topic but I just need help with what homebrewing and installing custom firmware can do and the benefits of it all. I mainly want to downgrade and stuff for rom hacks without using a flashcart.
My 3ds model is a New 3ds xl US
Firmware it 10.5
And menuhax is installed (I know the basic of homebrew like emulators and themes im more concerned about custom firmwares, downgrading and rom hacking) so can someone teach me all of this

memchuckhax2 was patched with 10.4.... The only way to downgrade is to hardmod.

The only way to downgrade is to solder connections to your nand and dump it and modify it to work with the downgrade (I have heard about this, so im not sure how to do the modification to the nand dump or if it works). The only way to install a cfw is to be on 9.2, which isnt possible to downgrade to without a hard mod since you are on 10.5. The benefits of a cfw are mainly for piracy, but to run custom vc games like snes or gba. The cfw patches signature checks so you can install what you want to the emunand.

If you have no experience with soldering then you will need to send it to someone to downgrade it for you (If the rumors of modifying your nand dump are true) which will ocst you money in the first place.

There are alot of guides on here and other websites to teach you about emunand. But if a small explanation is needed sure. Emunand is just a nand that is loaded instead of your current sysnand. Which loads up with sig checks patched so you can install games and homebrew as cia files. We cant share where to get these cia files on here because its againt the rules but you more than likely could find it easily with a google search. Now since you are on a N3DS XL, if you do get downgraded somehow in the future, i recommend either reinand or aureinand. Since you seem very new to this aspect. I recommend google about all of this and researching about everything needed and to do all of the rest after the downgrade. The only thing I really know about rom hax is you can either download it from somewhere as a cia file or decrypt and mod one yourself. There is NTR CFW for cheats but not really mods.

You can use HANS to load rom hacks. Just find one online, then in HANS, set it to load ROMFS.

Your best bet is to look at the sticky threads and read around in the tutorial section. You'll learn a lot more that way. Having someone hold your hand won't help you in the long run.

Instead of asking someone to type up a comprehensive list on the ins and outs of 3ds hacking, just read what other people say and ask. Surprisingly, you can learn a lot. If you can't find something, Google it. More times than not, someone will have already asked the question.

Don't worry about it. Here's a tip: look at the tutorials. They can give good hints as tutorials are structured for noobs, so you can learn a decent amount of you look hard enough.

Yes hardmods work for all systems. You can pay someone to do it for you.
