Hacking [QUESTION regarding rxTools CFW] So I just bought the AxC HHD Bundle new 3DS.....

So I just bought the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer "new" 3DS bundle. And the sysNAND comes with firmware (fw) 9.8.

1) Am I able to install rxTools on this firmware?
2) If I can't on fw 9.8, is downgrading to fw 9.2 possible?

I am familiar with rxTools and installing it. I installed it onto several handhelds: 2DS and old 3DS and old 3DS XL. Also, I have a gateway card and is running perfectly on my majora's mask new 3ds xl. The reason I'm doing this is I bought the bundle for someone and am wanting to install CFW on the new 3ds. Any help or info would be great, please and thank you.

Change your date to January 1st 2000 00:00 and install home brew through browserhax then follow this to downgrade then install Reinand over Rxtools on N3ds it has easier support for n3ds 10.6 emunand

thanks for the report, thinking of getting one of these soon since the pokemon 20th n3ds is sold out.

Supposedly you can downgrade anything at this point, even 10.6.

after 10.3, you have to have your ds hardmodded in order to downgrade

Yes you can but with 10.4+ it becomes a butt because you have to hardmod it first.

Which you should probably do before anything else anyway since downgrading always has potential to not work and/or break your 3ds.

Okay... so I followed that already and it was installing until it stopped midway and gave me the TURN OFF POWER message. And now it says I'm on 9.2 however, I don't believe it's completely fw 9.2. :/

happened with me and my Pokemon N3ds, What I did was update with a card, I used Mega Man, then redowngraded, I think I tried with SafeSysUpdater this time and it worked

I'll be a bit more accurate and give you guys a step by step on what I did:

Okay so I followed the guide step by step.
I used the latest 0.4.2b sysUpdater and copied all the .cia files from a zip file named "9.2.0-20U(Full)_n3DS.zip" into the updates folder.
I ran the Homebrew Launcher and then sysupdater.
I then pressed (Y) to downgrade and all seemed well... (success..success..success..etc) and then midway it crashes and gives me this error:

"An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Opertions Manual for details."

I turn off my n3DS like so and turn it on. It was just a black screen. At this point I thought it was bricked. I formatted the microSD and then it powered on again.
Seemed like it messed up something on the microSD giving me a black screen...
But formatting the microSD fixed it.
I looked in my settings and now my n3DS says 9.2.0-20U.
At this point, I feel funny about it because it was interrupted half way.
So I reloaded all the necessary files back into my microSD and then ran sysUpdater pressing (Y) and now I get this message in sysUpdater:

"title exception: main.cpp:148 Result: 0xD900182f failed to get CIA file info"

Try updating with a game, it fixes the broken files so you can downgrade again

So I just reformatted my microSD again, put the starter files back and put safesysupdater in again into the microSD. Ran the launcher and safesysupdater and I think it worked?

Edit: Yeah I think I'm good now. Before it wouldn't load the Zelda OOT GW exploit. Why? It probably only installed half the fw the first time around it messed up. Now that it installed the entire fw the second time around, the GW exploit works fine .

About Reinand, where can I obtain this and is it similar to txTools?

ReiNAND is similar to Rxtools, It loads EmuNAND but doesn't have the menu with the tools, and has better support with N3DS emunand 10.6, https://gbatemp.net/threads/source-release-reinand-n3ds-cfw.394309/

thanks a bunch for your help. also I'm not sure how to install rei so I may stick with rxtools, unless you got a tutorial for it?
