hey!
So I may be jumping the gun here, but does anyone know if we will be able to transfer emulator saves to the eshop version using home brew?

Has it already been done for other games?

Thanks

If you have the proper tools and having everything formatted correctly it should be possible. You can edit them in pikahex without much issue, so the saves themselves are probably identical structure-wise. The real issue so far is that none of the current homebrew save extractors can break their encryption, so unless you have kernal access, you're stuck anyway. Fortunately, gen 1 is so borked that unless you have some people that want to battle with you there's not much need for save editing anyway. The game itself isn't that difficult.

actually pikasav is borked for save editing

Pokemon editor works fine seems the box isse isnt there.

How you transfer the save is easy.
in Jks save manager make a Save of your CIA/GAME
open the save folder and delete the SAV.DAT rename you old Yellow .SAV to SAV.DAT and copy it in

We must be trying different versions of Pokemon Editor then, as it would've deleted all my boxed mons had I saved that file. Pikasave isn't exactly perfect either (it can't make new items worth a hoot), but it was better than having to restock my boxes everytime I wanted to change some ivs or the like. Maybe now that there's renewed interest someone will make a definitive editor to use, but right now as far as I can tell none of them work perfectly for me.

Ok, this was mentioned somewhere else on here (cant remember the thread, it probably had a similar title if you are that interested) but essentially, if you are using VBA, or any emulator that has a real time clock setting (for gsc and gba roms) (you can tell if it does usually if the save file is over 32kb) then you can go to file > save game > export battery file and name it sav.dat. then take a dump of your virtual console save, and replace that save with the "battery file" and restore the backup. The securevalue file that is dumped must be from the last opening of the vc, so any save manager with automatic securevalue deleting will likely cause issues with this. I personally recommend svdt or sdf for these since you can backup securevalues separately

edit: i was able to edit my save with a save editor found here: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/s...mon-Editor-and-Converter-for-Windows-Mac-OS-X
