I've seen people with a9lh say that they have updated their sysNAND to 10.6 with a9lh installed. How is this done safely? Will updating through the System Settings remove a9lh? Should I use sysUpdater? Do I need to remove a title from the update pack so that it doesn't remove a9lh?

Thanks!

Aureinand had built in protections for blocking firm0/firm1 writes

Add the file updatedsysnand file and your good (version 3.6.1)
Looks like the Reddit article was written before the update for the updated sysNAND mode, good to know.

Yep very, I have already swapped on my main system and a friends system over to it
From what I read, if you run AuReiNAND in updated sysNAND mode then you can update through System Settings. Anyone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Works just fine, I just did it again on a friends O3DS after installing a9lh

From 9.2 to 10.6

Yes but is it always safe ? Are there some exception to keep in mind ? Tomorrow hopefully I'm going to not brick my new n3ds installing a9lh and I'm wondering if I have to install emunand and keeping sysnand unmodified for safety purpose or leave just an updated cfw sysnand.

Edit: just read this post is a bit old, sorry.

Yes it's always safe. Aureinand will patch Firm0/1 always, so switching to Updated Sysnand is fine. Many people have already removed emumand from their system already.

Thank you. So all I have to do is update in system settings? Is there nothing to do on the SD card?
You still need the necessary files to boot up cfw, but yes. All you need to do is update through system settings. Just know that if native_firm is updated in the 10.8 update, that you shouldn't update until the cfw you are using is updated to compensate.

I'm on A9LH, with EMUNAND and AUREINAND unaccessable (its in my SD card Directory, but unable to load when boot up) with my N3DS ver. 10.7.0-32U is it safe to update it through system Update to Firmware 11. and if it's safe how do I update it

Your CFW is out of date, update to Luma3DS (new version of AuReiNAND) or try a different CFW

Is there any cfw that has password lock?
I don't mean parental lock i mean like a cellphone.
Nope, there's not even a plugin for it (as far as I know)
I know the PSP has a plugin that does that.
