The guy deserves the be banned period. What he did was immature and reprehensible and the mere fact that people defend him really goes to show how little people value honesty. What happened to honesty and integrity?

NO we weren't. The community set a horrible precedent that integrity was less important than the hack. No one forced him to promise to release a hack,he took it upon himself. If he had the integrity he would have released it,the guy was just seeking attention,adulation,and admiration at the expense of the GBAtemp community.

No one forced him to do anything,if we could force him we would already have the hack by now. The hacking scene has been the same for over 10 years,he knows how it works in the scene. With great power comes great responsibility and if you want to be respected/admired you need to deliver. Lets face it,hykems main motivation was the compliments he was going to receive. You CANNOT claim admiration for claiming you can do something but not delivering. The real world operates in such fashion that if you brag without delivering you lose credibility. This is just the way things are.

He was never doing it out of the kindness of his heart though lol,he wanted the triumph and the glory of being a famous scene developer.He basically has a bunch of unearned respect based on unfulfilled promises,if he wants everyone to eat their words and respect him he needs to deliver period. Imagine if in sports they had players saying they are the best in the league without scoring any points,people would get fed up with them quick. You need to deliver if you want to get treated like a king and some people basically let him skip the delivering part whilst still treating him like a king. What's the point of releasing if 70% of the GBAtemp populace already treats him like a god.

The respect he gets around here is incommensurate with his actual achievements.I respect people that are here to help the scene 100x more than someone trying to feed their narcissism.
