Hacking I'm looking to hack some friends' Wiis. Have any of the following things been outdated?

1) Letterbomb as the 4.3 exploit. (Also, has anyone been able to program an offline generator or at least a mirror for Letterbomb? Because we'd all be screwed if please.hackmii.com were to die).

2) d2x installer (this) to make the Wii ULGX-ready

3) Bootmii as boot2 with Configuration Editor for brick protection / Bootmii with Priiloader for iOS-only Wiis for brick protection

4) USB Loader GX for playing Wii backups off of a USB stick

5) Nintendont for playing GCN backups off a USB/SD

6) WAD Managers to install .wad files for VC, Wiiware and custom themes

Among these 6 things, are any of them now outdated or have a better alternative?

I got into Wii hacking recently ( 2014, not sooo recently but still ) and I used all those things, and I'm pretty sure they are still used today with nothing ebtter out there. So yeah, you'll be fine with them.

and
(Also, has anyone been able to program an offline generator or at least a mirror for Letterbomb? Because we'd all be screwed if please.hackmii.com were to die).

is an amazing idea.

You can always use a save game exploit to hack your Wii if you can't use bannerbomb or Letterbomb. d2x cIOS is the cIOS you want to install, it hasn't been made obsolete. As far as I know, bootmii will always install as IOS when you use the hackmii installer (not on Wii U), you will have the option to install bootmii as boot2 if your wii is compatible. If you can install it as boot2 then make sure to make a backup of your NAND. Install priiloader too no matter if bootmii is installed to boot2 or not, extra options of recovering from a brick is always good. USB Loader GX works like it always did, there are other backup loaders too like Wiiflow and CFG.

Has the d2x I linked to (the one in CSG) been outdated?

How does Priiloader help if your Wii is boot2-compatible (like mine)? Bootmii as boot2 already can autoboot to HBC, so what else does it do?

Everything you said sounds about right. If you need a guide to follow, I've been using this guide here (http://www.wiihacks.com/showthread.php?t=96886) for a long time and in my opinion is still one of the best guides to follow when soft modding your Wii.

As for number 6 on your list, if you are wanting to install WiiWare and VC games I would let USB Loader GX create am emunand for you on your USB drive and then let the built in WAD manager install those WADs to your newly created emunand. Also, if you are using the latest version of USB Loader GX, it now has support for neek2o which is a requirement for a handful of games to work. If you ate interested in trying it out, read this post here (https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/page-1075#post-5929568) which has a guide I wrote on how to get neek2o working.

Hope this helps.

Also, do you need to use iOS236 installer if you're using d2x? Is there any iOS installer you really need to use if you already have d2x?

And will game disc updates be requested if you use d2x?

If you have PriiLoader installed you can turn on the option to block disc updates.

Aside this, are there any mainstream apps (ULGX or WAD Managers) that need an iOS mod aside from d2x?

As long as you have 236 and 249-251 installed then you shouldn't have a problem. Most other homebrew will run from the homebrew channel which uses IOS58. You may run across some older homebrew that hasn't been updated and will use the cIOS.

What somebody stated above, just use mod mii, it download everything you need and make you a guide specific to your application.
