I was placed my ds on my night stand after taking it out of my pocket, while walking by I acidentally knocked it over, I went back a while later to play megaman and when I tried tried to turn it on it loads for a second then turns off with a popping soun, is there any fix for this
Edit: Fixed by re adjusting wires a few times, I had help eventually to make sure I could hold the wire in place and insert it back and flip the lock down

The bottom screen flashes so the top screen is out of order.

2 possibilities :
- top screen broken
- speaker flat cable torn

I don't know this issue on 3DS/3DS XL consoles since I repair them.
Maybe only the connector of speaker ribbon could open if the shock is violent but others couldn't.

On New 3DS XL, the connector is placed at back side of the motherboard, you could take a look on it.
It's the one which provides power to the top screen (ribbon color is orange).

My cable doesn't seem to be broken and after hooking everything back up there is no longer the popping sound but the system still turns off seconds after the system turns "on"

If the popping sound has disappeared, that suppose that the power cable of the lower screen was not well replaced or maybe the speaker ribbon...
You have to fix it (to have the popping sound again) before try to replace the upper screen.

I got the popping sound again after turning the system on again, which cable leads to the top screen?

The camera ribbon is black. The speaker ribbon is orange. The top screen ribbon is that which remains.

Now you have to replace the top screen or give your console for estimate repair to a professional.

Without money it will be difficult to repair your console.

Sorry to bother ya but I posted it in another thread here but you seem a pro in this so I'm gonna repost my problem here, if you or anyone else here in fact could help me I would immensely appreciate it, so here we go:

Just bought a N3DS XL Red, not used but new.

it's been a rollercoaster, when I first opened the box and turned it on it was all fine and dandy, not a single problem but then I opened the back cover to insert micro sd card and transfer stuff from my old 3ds to it, it started turning off if I shake it too much or tried closing the lid to sleep mode.

Remember having charged it for a bit after that and that problem was gone but now it sometimes do not turn on at all when 3DS is open but curiously it turns on almost 100% of the time when I mash the power button for 3 or 4 times when it's closed.

Do you know what could it be?
