Among all the wiiu apps this is the one that had some reason to exsist and to be used.
But google decided to turn off the service on march 31 2016.
I think that is not a "special" service per se but they using the same servers from the app.
Is there any possibility to "switch" the app to look on "normal" servers?
any idea guys?

Goes to show ...the Wii U is now officially dead!!! ...or Google did't make one sale when they started charging Wii U owners for StreetU??

Long shot, I very much doubt it will work ...but can't you try using host entries?? ...like use your Mac or Computer to act as a proxy, edit the hosts file to re-direct the url's to the normal server IP's or something??

Probably because it was a nice "show-off"-feature, and they don't want to pay licensing costs anymore now that the wii u doesn't really need to be shown off anymore.

if all it had to do was point to regular google maps , then wouldnt google have just done that :s
because probably they signed some sort of contract with nintendo.
as long as free nintendo paid the bill.
when the app become a paid app google had to pay the bill.

Since fiscal year ends on 31.3.2016 , since probably they are moving the collaboration on NX they had no economic interest in keeping it alive.
aside the commercial reason , I would love keep the app because i think technically this app is using the same servers of the official Google Map App.

could be possible to dump the app before that date when google will disable the app (i think same destiny of tvii app ... )?

Well, I thought all the Wii's online services (like the weather channel) were worthless, but there were mad enough people to save those. I wouldn't hold my breath but it wouldn't surprise me if someone brings it back for a couple of months before losing interest.
