Hacking Can anyone help identify my card and find the kernel?

Hi,

I brought a flash cart for a friend of mine from http://www.r4isdhcuk.com/products/R4i-SDHC.html but the card that came today doesn't look anything like the card I ordered, nor does the kernel for what it does look like seem to work.

The card claims to be an "R4 SDHC 3DS DSi Dual-Core Smart Update 2016", and shows up as Deep Labyrinth. I've tried approximately 30 different sources for various kernels but every time I get "Can't open _demenu.dat"

Nope, no good. I had already tried that one but I did re-download it and try again for good measure.

Also, that one doesn't even have a "_dsmenu.dat" which is what it seems to be having trouble with at boot.

Should it also be noted that it's looking for _dsmenu.dat rather than _ds_menu.dat?

Try renaming the file, possibly.

it's a chinese clone card, could you list the files on the sd card when it worked? all files and maps except the .sav and .nds files.
there's one file in each model that id's the card (r4.dar, patch.dat or some special other file.. when i see the list i might know what file is the one that is differend in each card.

I haven't managed to get it working, that's the problem I'm trying to solve. At the end of the day I don't really care what model it is as long as it works.

it's for older cards only this backup he needs a 2016 download wich might never been released (since the site seemed to got taken down around the time of this released card.
i can't find a wood using _dsmenu.dat, all woods (unofficial kernels) i can find use _ds_menu.dat since the .cn site is down (and probably never will return am sorry but it looks like you've got a bad clone card wich is using a modified kernel, i'd try renaming the dat file if i were you. for this might be all it takes. it looks like the 2014 version of www.r4isdhc.com but i'm not sure. it's a great clone since they also used the same box as the .www.r4isdhc.com uses (i know since i had one).

I think you're probably right, I got the kernel from a cached version of the .cn site, and tried various re-namings but nothing seems to work. I figured I can't be the only one with this card and perhaps someone else worked out a solution.

That's what it says on it, I think it must just be a shitty one, it seems to be a lost cause....


Anyone care to recommend a reputable, cheap vendor for a replacement? It needs to work on a DSi v1.3E, I'm in the UK if that makes any difference. Alternatively, if someone has one they don't need any more that they're looking to sell.....

No idea about the vendor but this card should work fine with the firmware from the second link I posted, the filetrip one.
