I just want to trick some friends

How do you make your own, and have it launch to the Eshop?

try using gba simple cia converter... its should pop up in the searchbox of here or the "site"

I don't think it will show up on your friends' 3DSes unless either A) they have the very same CIA on their console or B) it's an officially released game.
I imagine the Twilight Princess thing worked because it was through StreetPass, so the icon, title and publisher were downloaded.

I tested it with CFW on my N3DS XL and my unhacked N3DS HHD.

The custom title appears in StreetPass and the friends list

But does it appear on another person's 3DS when they look at your profile card? Of course it will show up on yours correctly, the files are on your 3DS.

Yes, it said it does.

I added my friend card from my CFW N3DS XL on my unhacked and unmodified N3DS HHD and every detail (icon, title, etc) shows up fine.
